What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I know. Ellen Page is INCREDIBLE. Also loved her in Juno and Smart People. It's strange that I'd love her in the latter since SP was pretty slow.

And why the HELL is everyone ragging on Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen? While it has flaws, it's still one of the better soulless Hollywood pieces of shit out there.

Started watching "The Great Yokai War" (Miike-directed AND it's a fantasy film not based on an uber-popular IP? Sounds gr8), but I was getting a bit needy for fresh air, so I went for a bike ride.

Also, any good words for "Night Watch"?
I loved Miike's The Great Yokai War. Awesome kid's film.

As for Night Watch, do you mean the Russian modern fantasy film from a few years ago? I really enjoyed it and thought it was a well done film, but I've heard some folks didn't. I will admit the books are better, but that's typical. In general I wasn't very impressed with the sequel, but then again, that's probably because of the MASSIVE deviations it made from the books.

That was freaking hilarious, especially the last car chase.
Jake: How often does the train go by?
Elwood: So often that you won't even notice it.

I enjoyed Hard Candy, but I thought Juno was a huge letdown. Everyone talked it up like it was the greatest thing ever, when all it really did was trivialize teen pregnancy and manage to be mildly clever.

Because it was stupid, incoherent and ridiculous. Way too much of it made no sense, many scenes were just embarrassing and uncomfortable to watch, and the plot holes were ridiculous. I was world better than Pearl Harbor, at least. I thought the transformer battle scenes were better than the first, since the camera shots were wide enough to actually show what was going on, but they lost effectiveness by being surrounded by a simply stupid movie. The first one was probably Michael Bay's best work, apart from the original "Got Milk" commercial:

The Discworld novel by that name is very good.

Oh, oh God...I'm glad I'm not the only person submitted to the horror that was Pearl Harbor...ugh, it actually made me want to vomit. It was that bad.

I thought she was good in Juno. But this blew me away. I'm officially an Ellen Page fan now.

I just watched Dreamscape, one of those 80s feel good flicks where some relatively average guy(with some psychic ability) manages to save the President, outsmart a shadowy government figure, and win the girl, all through the power of dreams.

God I love the 80s.

I actually saw it at the theater! I had no interest and knew nothing about the movie, but a bunch of my friends wanted to go and I was easily persuaded. Upon leaving that theater, one of them proclaimed, "That was my kind of movie! It had everything!"

I don't talk to those people anymore.

Yeah, don't feel bad, I saw it in theater too, based solely on the premise: Pearl Harbor. I thought "Hey, it'll be an update to Tora! Tora! Tora!" Oh man was I wrong. Oh man...

I'm glad you don't hang out with those people any more.
