Ok, just beat the single player on vet.
head and shoulders above cod4. First of all, the 7 hour argument is dumb, in this day and age it is average and really, I'm glad it didn't drag on any longer than it did. The plot definitely hits its stride in the second half and if it had been any longer it would have compromised the story rather than bolstered it. I still stand to my thoughts on cod2 and cod 1/uo being far better than the new games, but the single player game is by no means shabby, and by the end, I grew to love the new universe IW has established with this franchise, and I will be waiting for mw3 (which will happen, the ending makes it obvious). Special ops is also a great addition, these challenges highlight the best features of the game and really stand out. I am pretty impressed with the work done on this section.
HOWEVER, the multiplayer maps still seem a little dry in comparison to cod4. as well as less additions than expected and a bunch of stupid tweaks thrown in that make it weaker than the originals component. Guns and set ups can be made very op and the kill streak perks are still stupid. They fucked up here. Anyone looking for a legitimate competitive experience should look elsewhere as even TF2 does a better job in the hardcore competition market. Even TF2 does a better job in the hardcore competition market. That's not to say it's terrible, but it just isn't as solid as it always was. The lack of pc support and the player cap only underlines this. Fuck this new direction, there is no good reason, and really, whoever talked about how simplicity was the direction they wanted is full of shit. Money is what they want, and by killing off the map community and making the 360 their lead thing to program for, it's very clear their intentions are that of the $. The maps are definitely big enough to accommodate 32 players, and if they weren't, well the modders would make a map that could.
Anyways, ending of the campaign was great, and the two aspects aside from the mp are outstanding. I would definitely buy it if it wasn't for all of activisions bullshit.

I started playing MP last night and forgot how much I missed CoD. The only thing I don't really care for is that you have to level up to unlock some of the game types. I definitely be up for a clan.

Re: CoD MW2
I thought MW2 was a great addition to the Cod world. Some of the complaints I feel are unfounded. I know everyone is entitled to their own opion, but I felt every aspect of the game was very well polished.
CoD4 wasn't an extremely long game, but I dont remember anyone complaining about the length of that game. The story is quick paced, and it kept me involved throughout the whole gamed. Like others have said, once you hit half way through the story really takes off.
I'm really starting to enjoy the spec ops missions. I wasn't to thrilled about that part of the game untill i stated playing co-op online and that really makes spec ops awesome. The story may be short, however you'll be spending plenty of time unlocking the stars with each mission.
You can add me. My gamertag is jstezzy1 I'm up for any games.

I don't know about MW2, but some FPSs on the PS3 have M/KB support. (Sure are a lot of abbreviations)
At the very least, you could get that PS3 Mouse that is recognized as a controller, technically allowing you to play any game with a mouse. Sure, most games are far better on the PC regardless, but it looks like Infinity Ward intentionally gimped this one.

Yeah, I realize that nowadays many console FPS will work with console keyboards and mice. Heck, even some of the FPS titles on the Dreamcast do. But it just isn't the same thing to me.

Hah, found a picture today that I think you guys should see.

The guy who posted this at RFGeneration in the random photo thread said he took this screenshot while playing the PC version of Modern Warfare 2.
