Re: Capcom's Console Hypocrisy
If I wasn't lazy I'd add links to all the times Capcom said they're the best multiplatform publisher and that they feel they spread the quality games evenly between the consoles.
I love Capcom, but I'd be really frustrated with them if I had only a Wii.

Re: Capcom's Console Hypocrisy
That's what you get for selling your Wii, the7k.
I'm glad I still have mine so I will still be able to play Red Steel 2, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, Sin and Punishment 2, Arc Rise Fantasia, Fragile, Tales of Graces, No More Heroes 2, Metroid: Other M, and Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Re: Capcom's Console Hypocrisy
It just seems strange to me that they would say SF4 and RE5 can be done on the Wii, while TvC can't be done on the PS3/360.HellHammer wrote:If I wasn't lazy I'd add links to all the times Capcom said they're the best multiplatform publisher and that they feel they spread the quality games evenly between the consoles.

To me, making TvC exclusively for the Wii was just a huge, HUGE mistake - especially considering that the likelihood of a sequel making it to the consoles fighting game fans actually have hinges on it doing well on a console where the majority of its users never buy any games for the system other than Wii Sports. They may as well cut the bullcrap and say "We aren't making a sequel."
Look at how poorly Zack & Wiki, Spyborgs and Okami performed on the Wii. Hell, even Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles were out performed by Deca Sports and Game Party! And yet, they're more willing to put RE5 and SF4 onto a console that hasn't bought their stuff than they are willing to put an already obscure fighting game property onto consoles that actually have a proven audience.
It just blows my freakin' mind. I don't understand it. It's like punching a wall until you break your hand, getting it stitched up, and then punching it some more.
I'm not saying they shouldn't make it for the Wii, just that they shouldn't make it only for the Wii. It's just asking for a commercial disaster. If you wanna make Wii exclusives, you should make it play to the strengths of the system. A strong fighting game community isn't one of the Wii's strengths.

I had someone lined up who was going to sell me one for $70, but they flaked. I'm not worried, I have nothing but time - but even when I had a Wii, I still thought it was an idiotic move. It's actually less about TvC at this point, and more about NSMB.
Fighting games already catch all sorts of shit just for having a shitty online (KOFXII, SC4, Tekken6, SSBB) - how are you going to convince people to buy a fighting game that has NO ONLINE? That may have flown last gen, but that's only because people didn't know you could play fighting games online then. Now that people know, it's expected to be there.

they didn't, they just said they didn't want to do it for wii.the7k wrote: It just seems strange to me that they would say SF4 and RE5 can be done on the Wii, while TvC can't be done on the PS3/360.
"The other problem is the game is optimized for the Wii system, especially the graphics features, so if we were to port it to PS3 or Xbox 360 we would have to make the game from scratch, and in that case we might as well just make a sequel of the series on those consoles rather than porting it."

Re: Capcom's Console Hypocrisy
i think the people who would be playing this on ps3/360 could care less if it looked, like a last gen game. just port the fucking thing"The other problem is the game is optimized for the Wii system, especially the graphics features, so if we were to port it to PS3 or Xbox 360 we would have to make the game from scratch, and in that case we might as well just make a sequel of the series on those consoles rather than porting it."
Re: Capcom's Console Hypocrisy
I blame their lack of advertisement and good marketing campaigns on why Capcom games fail on the Wii. The games are awesome.
Thanks everyone...

You haven't met many people who play on the PS3 or 360 and don't have a Wii.IcKy99 wrote:i think the people who would be playing this on ps3/360 could care less if it looked, like a last gen game. just port the fucking thing"The other problem is the game is optimized for the Wii system, especially the graphics features, so if we were to port it to PS3 or Xbox 360 we would have to make the game from scratch, and in that case we might as well just make a sequel of the series on those consoles rather than porting it."
