CD 32X Games?

Post by IcKy99 »

I have always wanted to know, what are the benefits of playing a CD-32X game instead of a normal 32X game like corpse killer? since it has versions for both.

If memory serves me correct it bumped up the color pallet / amount of colors able to be drawn on screen.

ie: Color video.

Well, presumably they'd use redbook audio for the music and any videos could look better since there's more storage.

Sorry, I missed something you said in your first post.

Corpse Killer came out on the Sega CD and the Sega CD 32X (Meaning it came on CD format but required the 32X to be set up as well). So the audio would be the same it just has improved video.

According to the Supreme Warrior 32x Box (which, yes, I just happened to have sitting beside me..dont' ask).

Digitally remastered for 32x!
40% Larger Video
25% Sharper Video
8 Times More Colors

Well, sort of. It offered an upgrade, so if you had both the 32X and the SegaCD then if you could pick between the two versions of the game. You wouldn't have been losing any money, just getting a better version of the game.

But it does seem a bit cash cowish.

Aren't the CD/32X games smoother than the CD counterparts?

Better framerate.

When I said CD, I meant Sega CD. Thought it would've been redundant to say Sega CD. ;P
