Chimp Attack
Re: Chimp Attack
The state has more money.
We are prepared to live in the plain and die in the plain!
Re: Chimp Attack
The state probably didn't enforce their rules on keeping some animals illegally as pets.

There's no way a projectile monkey-fart attack would do that kind of damage to her face!Luke wrote:That "chimp" weighed 200 lbs.d123456 wrote:It's a warning. Animals are animals. I wonder how all that damage was done, I've never witnessed a monkey mauling before (other than Primal Rage). I'm guessing most of the damage was done by his mouth.
Seriously though, I'm going to guess infection from bites had something to do with it.
Re: Chimp Attack
I'm sure infection had a lot to do with it, but the money ate both her hands and her face. The victim, understandably, doesn't talk about the attack, but I'm more interested in that than her injuries. It's got to take a lot of time and work to remove hands, hair, and a face with just hands and a mouth.
To her it either must have seemed like a flash, or an entire lifetime. Imagine what a Silverback could do to a human in a short period of time.
*Since I was a child, I have always wanted a Silverback as a pet. No more.

I read something where she claimed that she actually doesn't remember the attack or some amount of time afterwards.Luke wrote:I'm sure infection had a lot to do with it, but the money ate both her hands and her face. Probably still in the early stages of PTSD.Limewater wrote:I read something where she claimed that she actually doesn't remember the attack or some amount of time afterwards.Luke wrote:I'm sure infection had a lot to do with it, but the money ate both her hands and her face. Re: Chimp Attack
Brutal. You know people are saying that they wouldn't want to keep Monkeys for pets because of that and I agree. However, if you look up dog attacks you can see similar damage. Not just by specific breeds either, many loving pets have just decided to turn on an owner and eat a face or other body part. I would never own a dog I couldn't take 1 on 1 for this same reason. The safety of my family is my main concern.

Re: Chimp Attack
My understanding is that the victim is suing the state because, believe it or not, the owner had a permit to keep the chimp. I think the law pursuant to which the permit was granted was repealed, but the owner was grandfathered in and allowed to keep her chimp permit.

Perhaps. Or she may just never remember.Luke wrote:

This is nowhere near the same thing, but when I was young, my older sister accidentally hit me in the head with an aluminum baseball bat. I never lost consciousness or anything, but I don't have any memory of being hit. I remember standing on the other side of the yard, behind a tree, and I remember being on the other side of the yard, looking down at my shoes and seeing blood drip all over them, but I don't remember anything in between. I was later told that I was behind her while she was swinging to hit a tossed ball, and that's how I was hit.
