Video Reviews / Series based on Games

Post by Ryukotsei »

Hey, I recently finished rewatching AVGN as well as some things on Gametrailers and Screwattack and it just makes me feel like I want to see more. I guess I should have watched about 1 video a day to make it last longer.

I also follow these Youtube channels and I've seen everything so far. Here they are below for anyone interested. But most people probably know them anyway.

Basically, I was wondering if anyone else can share some video series or video game reviewers that you know.

Thanks.

I really like AVGN (the audio alone is great to listen to) but the only one I really follow now is CGR

I occasionally like "Videogames you don't play" by Samtron5000 on YouTube.

My favorite review shows are:

Happy Console Gamer - link
(Really high quality videos from a guy who loves games, talks about more interesting topics than most, and never sounds pretentious.)

Games That You Might Don't Know - link
(I'd recommend watching the Wind Water and Puzzle Battles review first, just because it's funny.)

Some of my favorite video game culture shows are:

The New Adventures of Captain S - link
(Plot driven, so start from episode 1. It gets good. This is an old Screwattack feature and it had a crossover with the AVGN, so I'm guessing you may have already seen it.)

Video Game Confessions - link
(I really like the drawings he does in episodes 1-6 ^^. Not that great yet, but has potential.)

Sessler's Soapbox - link
(I like his opinions on much of what he talks about.)
Looking for Animal Crossing e Reader cards! - link

I really enjoy watching mn12bird and Petedorr. Petedorr is a great reviewer and plays tons of games so his opinion is usually pretty informative. mn12bird does a lot of retrogames and is very informative on the technology side of things.

I can't believe I didn't mention him, but Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw does these hilarious fast talking reviews of videogames. I rarely agree with him, but I always enjoy his reviews anyway.

Shameless self-promotion! I do video reviews/walkthroughs/showoff videos of the Mega Man games on my channel:

http://www.youtube.com/user/GeminiLaser

And here's another channel that does some similar things, except it's more "let's play" than reviews:

http://www.youtube.com/user/GCDotNet

And if you're looking for a gaming-related series, Life in a Game is funny and crosses all sorts of genres:

Dunno if that's exactly what you're looking for, but maybe it'll help.

I don't think I saw RetrowareTV mentioned yet.

www.retrowaretv.com

It's home to several series I enjoy, like VideoGame Takeout, Happy Video Game Nerd, and, or course, Retroware TV.
