No, we've already discussed that the next Sonic game will have him as a Vampiric Pirate Samurai. He'll use dual sawed-off flintlock rifles and a katana, Devil May Cry style. His Vampire affliction will mean he has to avoid direct sunlight throughout the game.

My favorite character's Metal Sonic. I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the version from Sonic CD is the one that appears in Sonic Adventure as a playable character in Vs. I think Mecha Sonic is cool, but I like the way Metal Sonic more closely resembles Sonic.
