Who is your favorite sonic the hedghog character?

But which tails are we referring to?

Sonic 2 Tails - really just plays like sonic with flying... only game where he is evenly matched... and you don't get to actually beat the game with him (no death egg zone). More or less a tacked on feature...

Sonic 3 Tails - gimped down, he's slower, doesn't jump as high (made up for in fly ability), and doesn't get a super state

Sonic 3 & Knuckles combo Tails - gimped down just like in S3, but you get super tails now... but you don't get Hyper. Furthermore you don't get to actually beat the game as him.

Sonic Adventure Tails - even slower, not all the levels... again no super. Here the level design for tails levels are actually geared for him.

SA2 - only drives vehicles. Hated his role in this game.

Future games his role decreases even more.


The handhelds are different though, but then come with their own scaling in differences from game to game... basically making each choice more balanced, but in essence changing the gameplay for each character.


In my book Tails always came short. I never had any good reason to use him. The only game where he actually came in handy was Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and even then you still didn't get to beat the entire game with him. You only could with Sonic.

Not to say I never used him, as I didn't feel I've completely finished a Sonic game until I beat it every way possible (every combination of characters, collected all chaos emeralds, etc etc).




Furthermore, substantial proof my choice is Sonic:

Strangely, Leelour, the albino one has a thing for the scent of my pants and my fingers (I'm assuming it's the tobacco smell or something). And is constantly gnawing at my pant legs and hands.


Boo on the other hand is an angry little bitch and only likes me. If I put my hands in front of her she'll uncurl, sniff me, look up at me and climb in my hands. Anyone else tries and she huffs and squeels at them.

Well, my favoritism towards Tails is based on both Sonic 2, and all the Game Gear games. I never had a Genesis as a kid, but I always lugged my Game Gear around.

I especially loved playing Tails Adventure on the Game Gear, and I still enjoyed it when I played it on the Sonic Gems Collection for the Gamecube.

When Sonic 2 came out I thought Tails was kinda cool. But I was also a kid so... I think Sonic and Knuckles are the best. The rest of the characters ruined some of the games

You play death egg zone as tails in sonic 2. But there's no Super Tails. In Sonic 3 I never noticed him being slower or jumping lower. Knuckles was the one who couldn't jump as high. I remember a game genie code that made knuckles jump as high as sonic and tails. Also, in Sonic 3&K they call him super tails but you have to get all the super emeralds to get him, which is what you have to do to get hyper sonic and hyper knuckles. If there was a hyper tails I don't know how he'd be better. Personally I think the little birdies are way cooler than the wall smash thing hyper knuckles does.
