Just saw 2012. It is more horrifically terrible than you can imagine. I can't believe it's possible, but it's worse than Armegeddon, Waterworld and 300. They drive a limo across a fissure in the San Andreas fault, through a skyscraper filled with debris WHILE it's collapsing ALL at the same time. All so they can get to space age ocean liners built by the Chinese in a secret base inside of Mt. Everest. And Danny Glover is president. It's stunningly, stupefyingly bad. But I did laugh quite a bit, so it does work pretty well a comedy.

Finally got to seeing Zombieland. Tallahassee is my god, and he will reward my work with Twinkies.

Was it a petition to stop Boll from making movies? Wow, that's impressive. I think I have to admit that I watch Boll movies all the way - or most of the way through - because I can't take my eyes away. It's like a car wreck. Considering how many people probably do the same, he actually has a lot of viewers.
Yeah, and Uwe agreed to it if the petition got 1,000,000 signatures. Last I remember it was in the 100,000's.

Watched the director's cut of Watchmen, again, last night. The montage at the beginning with "Times are a changin'" played in the background, remains one of my favorite scenes in the past few years. Talk about establishing a mood. The first few minutes of UP is just as effective too.

First off, I don't have a problem with Uwe Boll in general, but I can honestly say that Alone on the Dark sucked and Bloodrayne was a rental at best. House of the Dead was a brainless (no pun intended) shitfest and that's why I loved it. Haven't seen Postal yet.

Recently finished Discs 3 and 4 of Star Trek TOS Season 1. Disc 4 featured the two-parter "The Menagerie", which was mostly clips from the original pilot episode "The Cage".

And I gotta ask... where did that whole thing about Shatner come from, where he talks funny, with slight pauses in between words?

Should get Discs 5 and 6 soon, but with Mother Nature being on the rag, the road leading past Mirlo Beach in Rodanthe (where you can find the cottage that "played" the inn from "Nights in Rodanthe") got flooded and closed.

But after Disc 10, I currently have the following movies in my Netflix Queue:

* Rock and Roll High School
* Streets of Fire
* Zardoz (I have it on my DVR, so if I watch it there, I may or may not move this and replace it with another film)
* The Ice Pirates
* Conquest (a sword-and-sorcery film directed by Italian director Lucio Fulci).

I thought that movie was hilarious when I was a kid. I'm afraid to watch it again now. I'm sure I'd understand more of the jokes, but I'd probably think more of them are stupid.

It's actually in my queue as well because I think I remember seeing it, but at the same time I'm not sure.

The Menagerie was a great couple of episodes in TOS. I think Shatner just sort of gradually worked his way into that acting style. He really didn't do it in the first series much. It comes on very gradually. I think it is natural for him because he tries to sound as intense as possible just like he tries to act as intense as possible. My wife and I love whenever there is a scene where he is in moderate danger and he dives out of the way and rolls when there probably was no immediate threat. And his shirt ALWAYS gets ripped. Classic Shatner. He is one of my favorite people. He embraced his quirkiness and has really used it to turn him into an icon. Not for great acting or anything, but just for being Shatner.
