need help from iphone gamers

Post by Amon »

Hey everyone. I am in a marketing class and for one of my projects my group is trying to determine what characteristics of iPhone games make them successful. Why do some games fail and some games succeed? To do so we need people to take an online survey. Please help and take the survey http://tinyurl.com/yl9lfuj
Thank you very much.

Also, cheap games with fun music and graphics = good sales on iPhone for the most part.

Filled out survey. One suggestion though, the buttons are really far away from the answers, which makes it kind of difficult to figure out which response I'm selecting. Other than that it is a pretty robust survey.

It's the price and ease of purchase using the already available method for music and movies.
Thanks everyone...

The biggest factor in becoming a hit game is luck. If you catch the eye of the developers (or pay enough) and can get on the Hot List, the perhaps you can find an audience. Sadly, even if you hit the top 100 you are going to be hard pressed to make any money. I have read articles where a developer who had 2 games in the top 25 was making a grand total of $20 a day (combined) from the two games. The fact is, with so much free software, the overwhelming majority of developers are going to end up not making much at all.

that is the problem. Of all the games only a handful are good. Of all the software maybe somewhere under 30 or so apps are useful. With so much junk on that platform it is really really difficult to find something decent.

Not getting sued to shit by Tim Langdell helps.

But seriously, game has to be cheap, generally the sweet spot for a lot of impusle buys for me is between £0.59 and £1.50. I just can't resist at that price. It also has to have that casual pick up and play nature to it, since I don't spend a lot of time playing games on my iphone, only the quick 10-20 minutes here and there when I don't have anything to do.

I know this thread is old, but I wanted to add my 2 pence.
