New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
Hi, I like platformers, can't ever beat them though. I have never owned a sega console. And I hate 3d fighters.

Re: New Members: Introduce Yourself!
I've been lurking here for a year now, joined in March and never introduced myself. I'll be 27 next week and I just realized that videogames will have been part of my life for over 20 years. Nostalgia plays a big part in the reason I still play. I remember the first time I ever played a game, I was invited over to a friend's house after school not realizing that they were the first kids on their street to have a NES. Six of us piled round the TV, I remember being captivated by the secret beanstalk in Super Mario Bros, the missile-shooting Turtle van and outraged at the difficulty in landing the Tomcat in Top Gun.
Christmas came that year and Santa Claus brought me a Commodore 64. Like many technophobic parents of 80's, my folks decided that a personal computer would be more of an investment in their son's future than a box that plays games. My dad was pretty wily though, I learned years after that he'd gotten a deal which included the basic system, but also the Datasette and a bunch of cassette-based games. Instead of landing me with the whole lot, he dealt them out one at a time over the next year... Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Street Fighter, 1942 and Bionic Commando.I'm starting to sound like Grandapa Simpson now so I'll wrap it up.
To this day those guys with the NES are still my closest friends and despite that fact we live hundreds of miles from each other, when we get together we always try to fit some gaming in, it's not always retro titles (sometimes it's one of them newfangled Sega Dreamcasts) but I guess what I'm trying to say is that, game's aren't always seen in a positive light but that a common interest i has kept my friends and I in touch all these years later and for that I'm truly grateful.
If the lads actually read this, they'd probably label me a gaylord. Does anyone else here have a mini-midlife crisis every time their birthday comes around?

Well,
both let you stick things in them for amusement...
both usually end up costing you a fortune over time...
and both whine incessantly...

Both of you are too young to have a mid-life crisis!

Hey guys, my names Veno. I've been a sort of long time lurker, since probably last year. Decided to make an account just now. I'm into every genre, and just love video games as a whole. Hope to enjoy my stay.

Hey, I'm Matt. I'm 20 and have been getting into modern and retro games over the past year or so. I'm mostly interested in games from the last twenty years. I love building and hacking electronics, though I haven't been brave enough to try anything with an old console yet.

Hi!
Give an old console a go and make a portable - it's fun!
