Similarly, but quite different, I grew up in a small town in Southern NJ that is all rednecks and racist assholes who never leave, but just settle down and have kids themselves who turn out the same way... anyhoo. Most of the kids are now cops. Those little dicks that created so much havoc in peoples lives, who did every drug and almost drove their parents into early graves, are now police officers in charge of other peoples' safety. Even worse, now they have guns - well legally, most of them always had guns.

So when Dylan reacts we start to spit shit. Quite a feat I must say.

On a serious note, I understand and have a similar respect with my friends/family. Lets just say that the crescent wrench in my trunk isnt dirty from working on the car. Though the delicious justice you received through a tv program is one that I am jealous of.

I like your response... heheheheh :)

but I said "split", as in knocking front teeth in.

But yeah, it's always nice to witness justice out of the blue. It's just a very heart warming feeling after seeing so many undeserving people suffer it... and finally someone who needs it having it happen.

On a somewhat related note about seeing people you know on TV. Remember that dentist that drove over and killed her husband in a fit of jealous rage after catching him with his mistress a few years ago in Houston? She was my dentist in high school.

Yes this is the classmate I spoke of in the original post.
I was hoping so. This brings me to a point:

Success is the best revenge. - Some really insightful and intelligent guy who is not me.

Running into assholes from years ago and asking them what "they are up to" could become a favorite pastime of mine.

Awesomeness factor:

1) Cop: What are you doing? Dude, completely natural: Sleepin'.
2) Dude: All those pills are Zanex. Cop: What's this white one? Dude: It's... what is that?
3) Cop finds the bong, it's his friends. Cop finds the grinder, it's his brothers. Cop finds the pills with the cap that is too small, he lets his friends switch his caps.
4) He is a skinny, pussy looking dude and he's wearing fatigues and combat boots.
5) Dude is getting arrested for falling asleep at a stop light and having tons of drugs and drug accessories (King of the Hill reference) and he asks if the cop will follow him home so he can drop his truck off.

Do you hate Cops the show or cops as in police officers? If the latter, do you hate the officers themselves or the policies and culture of control and adversarialism that they represent?

I know some good guys who are cops. Granted most of them are returning to grad school because they're fed up with the established police-culture and rampant ineffectiveness of status quo policies, but it shows a real possibility for top-down change.

I also know plenty of the other type--young, self-righteous, dare I say racist, hyper-masculine bastards. All in all there is a lot wrong with police culture and police practices, and those things I hate, but I don't hate cops, just like I don't hate criminals. Actually, there are a lot of criminals I really like.
