With the VC on Wii, I do wonder the games from NES and SNES that were released on GBA, which some boosted enhancement over the original.
I wonder how many of members here actually owned and played Final Fight One, River City Ransom EX, Super Dodge Ball Advance, Double Dragon Advance, and Contra Advance.
I'm not looking in buying any of these for my GBA family, just wondering with the VC on Wii, how relevant are these game now.

Re: O'skool games that were "enhanced" on GBA
I have Final Fight One. It's actually a pretty good port to be honest. But I'm not crazy about Final Fight in general. (That's why it's on my trade list now).
Anyway, I started a thread just like this a while ago...
but I can't find it right now. But I did find this:

I just realized you're talking remakes, not ports. Which is different than what my thread was about... sorry, I read yrs too fast!

No problems, as my topic could be a bit too broad.
Yeah, I do wonder the games from NES that was "enhanced" for GBA; we all do know the localization of Final Fight from JP to NA, and I do read that GBA did retain some parts of the original.
River City Ransom, I still say it is the origin of all "sandbox" games, but we have no sequel to this, and I read that EX wasn't truly an improvement.

it's definitely an area that I'm very interested in...
have you checked out hardcoregaming101.net by any chance? They do tons of amazing features about the differences of ports and remakes from console to console.

Sword of Mana is another massive remake for the GBA. It's really different from the original Final Fantasy Adventure on the Game Boy.

Yes it is! I had FF: Adventure when I was younger, so recently nabbed a CIB Sword of Mana to replay. It felt like a whole new game. Which it kind of is.

Thanks for the link, that one is good resource site, though it could be a bit more organized. But I didn't see an entry for River City Ransom, I did see one for Final Fight.noiseredux wrote:it's definitely an area that I'm very interested in...
