SNES powerpak from retro zone!!!

Post by toredauei »

well they've got one :) given the awesomeness of the original powerpak I have no doubts that this one is just as awesome! Anyway, I thought there would be quite a few of you guys on here that would take interest in this.

*dies from happiness*

YES!!! THEY FINALLY MADE ONE!!!!! THANK YOU!!!!

*ahem* Yes, seriously, that's amazing. I've been looking for a way to play a lot of translated SFC games and kinda settled on getting a game copier, getting a LOT of flash carts, or getting a LOT of games repro'ed.

I will SO be getting one of these, and very soon... The cartridge even has the curved shape of the SFC carts, so I can play this on my Super Famicom when I get it!! :D

Yay!!

Man, that thing is awesome! A bit pricey though...

I personally want this one. But again, too pricey. :(

And the Mike Tyson's Intergalactic Power Punch game is something that I actually will buy!

actually it sounds very simple. Load roms on the CF Card. Stick the CF into the pack. Load it into yr SNES. Pick yr game.

I wonder if they made sure that problem that rose when you played a pirate copy of Earthbound doesn't happen (Beyond hellish difficulty, game saves deleting when you face Giygas)

Features look better than ToToTEK's flash cart. I'm buying one asap!

This is aaaaawesome news dude! I was hoping something would come out like this for the SNES for a while now. Here's hoping one for the n64 comes out next! :)

Also, if anyones on the fence about buying, I have the NES PowerPak from this guy and it works absolutely amazing. I loaded up the entire NES library including some hacks and translated Japanese nes games, and they all load in about 3-4 seconds and work flawlessly.

This is great however the same thing happened with the GBA, DS and NES. I got the M3REAL for DS and flashed backups onto my microSD. It only took 2 weeks before I bought my next real DS cart. The M3 still works great, but there is nothing like having the original. I still buy a new DS game every week. I don't even bother trying it out first with a backup.
What I'm trying to say is - if you are a collector, don't be fooled by this. It is not the answer.

I'll probably still get one, but also still plan on importing Terranigma ASAP.

Wow that's pretty awesome. I was waiting on the one from neo flash, but I might just have to bite on this one. I've been watching the NES cart for a while, hoping they'd add MMC5 support, but there are only a few games that use that. It's nice that this cart has an option for a DSP-1 chip, although there's not that many great games that use the DSP-1. Too bad you can't add an SA-1 chip to this for Mario RPG and Kirby.

I'm going to have to count my pennies, see if I can get both of these power paks. I already have the neo myth MD. I need these two, the upcoming harmony cart for the 2600, and eventually the neo myth N64 cart whenever it gets released and I'll be one happy gamer. Of course, AtariMax has flash carts for the 5200, colecovision, and there's the cuttle cart 3 for the intellivision. But damn, you can't have everything.
