Broken SNES, need console game-bit

Post by DrCirno »

Anyone have a game-bit for consoles they wouldn't mind letting me borrow? I picked up a SNES for 5 dollars the other day and it doesn't work. Hopefully I can crack it open and find out whats wrong with it. If I can I'll post my progress on fixing it, but I can't do that without having that tool.
Boy I tell you what, are those some god dang video games?

Here's a guide on how to make your own gamebit out of a clear BIC pen:

My Consoles:
Genesis - Nomad - SegaCD - GameGear - Sega Saturn - Dreamcast - NES - SNES - N64 - Gamecube - Wii - Playstation - PSone & LCD - PS2 - PS3 - Xbox - 3DS

You should consider just buying one. They're only a couple of bucks and are great as an aid for cleaning old gaming gear.

Here's another vote for just buying one. You can buy one for about the same price it'd cost to ship it to and from you, and then you'd have the benefit of keeping it forever.

In contrary to what I posted earlier I'll agree that you should just buy a bit, but the BIC pens at least make for a decent temporary one during the dismantlement.

Also, the GameBit are also useful for opening other consoles other than just the SNES - N64, TurboGrafx, GameCube (I think), not sure about others too. Useful tool to have. Larger one for the consoles, smaller GameBit for SNES and N64 game carts.

The site I linked has a chart that says what opens what as well. Saves having to type it out. :)
