What was the last movie you've seen?

The reason I found Goats to be hilarious is because I know a lot of folks who do that kind of thing, and I actually know a good bit of how much of that story is actually true...and it really is more than you want to believe.

I made the critical mistake of going into the movie with high expectations. That almost always makes the viewing a bust.

I watched Rolling Thunder (1977) the other day. It's supposed to be, like, Tarantino's favorite film, and it was, eh... It's about two dudes who come back from Vietnam having been in captivity (i.e. tortured) for like seven years, and they just can't adjust. Bad things happen.

Same guy who wrote Taxi Driver (Paul Schrader), so it's kind of the same deal. The director on this movie though, John Flynn, is no Scorsese. The 1st 20 minutes are good, and the whole story in abstract is good, but the movie itself is not so good. It did make me think about the experience of soldiers (a few of which we must have on this forum, right?) more than any other movie though.

Man right now I'm eating a bowl of vanilla ice cream, hot maple syrup, peanuts and cinnamon for breakfast + coffee ofc. So much sugar. It's like soup now

'War Games' (1983) with Mathew Broderick, enjoyable nostalgic cheese. Loved the dial-up hacking. Watched a lot of horror movies this past month, 'Eden Lake' - a mix of Straw Dogs, This Is England and Southern Comfort - pretty grim, but well worth a watch. 'Trick 'r Treat', it's Goosebumps for grownups, has quite a few memorable bit parts including Tahmoh Penikett (Halo from BSG). Best by far was 'House of the Devil' (2009), I can't believe the lengths they went to in making this appear like an actual 80's horror flick. Beats any efforts in period production design by Tarrantino or Richard Kelly. The level of detail is astounding. Suspenseful, atmospheric and sufficiently gory. Highly recommended.

Diaz surprised me, she wasn't awful in this, she actually put on a pretty good performance. As far as the movie though, 2 stars out of 4 from me.

2. Ernest Saves Christmas
3. Ernest Scared Stupid
4. Ernest Goes to Jail
5. The Saturday morning television series


Ernest Rides Again, Ernest Goes to Africa, and Slam Dunk Ernest do not exist.

*EDIT* Apparently, Ernest Goes to School and Ernest in the Army may exist. Either I have seen neither, or I repressed all associated memories.

My brothers had me watch the Ed Ed N Eddy movie with them. I must say, the show had turned to crap after it's first season or two, but this movie really was a blast form the past. I enjoyed it like I was a kid again and couldn't believe how the creators actually gave a happy ending for the three kids who always lost. It was a nice touch and left me happy to see characters that I grew up with finally succeed in the end.

I saw that this morning and loved it.

And the Star Trek TOS episode, Mudd's Women, thus finishing Disc 2.

Koyaanisqatsi is also great. 1982 was one of those special Hollywood years.

Got the soundtrack I liked that one that much. And I laughed so hard when they used the title track in Scrubs. I actually caught a movie on Public Broadcasting a couple months ago that was like a qatsi but shot in the thirties. Ill have to find that again, it was incredible.
