OK,
Now I have a Dreamcast, which includes several fighting games: SC, Virtual On:OT, and JoJo's BA; I do wonder if the I should get SF III as well, and which version - original, Double Impact, or 3rd Strike.
If you did ever own from one to all of them, how was the game when compared to o'skool SF II and later SF Zeo/Alpha series?
SF III on Dreamcast
Re: SF III on Dreamcast
Well, you cannot buy SF3: New Generation by itself.
For the DC, you can buy Double Impact or Third Strike. Third Strike is the final and most complete version of SF3 so I'd say get Double Impact only for collection purposes, Third Strike is the one to buy and play. 3S has the best music, most characters and the most solid game play.

Re: SF III on Dreamcast
I'd go for SF 3 third strike and alpha 3
As far as street fighter goes for american releases the games go as fallows
SF alpha 3, Street Fighter, SSF2THDR, SF3 Third strike and soon to be SSF4
there the last iterations of there series and will be the most up to date
that being said I don't think you can compare alpha 3 to third strike there both such different games alpha will be fun for everyone but 3rd strike offers a lot to someone who is willing to learn with that fantastic parrying system not to say alpha 3 doesn't have depth but it is on a whole other lvl then 3rd strike

Re: SF III on Dreamcast
I'll argue that Double impact has better music, but aside from a few small changes to the mechanics and the additional roster of characters it's all really mostly preference which game you choose.BigTinz wrote:Well, you cannot buy SF3: New Generation by itself.

I prefer to play Double Impact as my everyday all purpose fighter to play for fun and Third Strike for competition and tournament play.

I could barely follow you. Consider using at least basic punctuation.c0r33 wrote:As far as street fighter goes for american releases the games go as fallows

Did you mean chronological order in your first blob of text?
As for SFIII, I only have 3rd Strike so I can't really say which is best.

So you chimed in just to criticize his posting?
Re: SF III on Dreamcast
Street Fighter III: Double Impact is worth owning if you are shopping on a budget. While Third Strike is the ultimate SFIII experience, Double Impact is pretty cheap and a 2-for-1 deal. I still pop it in the DC every now and again.
It's also worth noting that Double Impact is the only way you'll get to play New Generation and Second Impact without buying an arcade cabinet, as it was never re-released on the PS2 or Xbox like Third Strike was.

MSN has made me ignore proper punctuation when on the internet ill be more mindful next time.
As for what I meant SFA3 is the last iteration of the alpha games as a series, as is SSF2HDR of the SF2 games and 3rd strike is of SF3. There the most up to date versions of the games but thats not saying there the best. As far as street fighter on the DC goes 3rd strike and alpha are my favorites.
