Which is correct? VGPC or rarityguide.com?

I was wondering which is better, because rarityguide.com has games priced alot more than VGPC. I need to know how much to sell my games for and which site to use.

I'm selling Final Fantasy 1 for $10. Thats what its worth on VGPC, but on rarirtyguide, its worth $18.

on VGPC, Merio Kart 64 is worth around $15, on rarityguide its up at $26. i'm just curious because i don't want to get ripped off and i really don't want to rip someone else off.

I tend to lean towards VGPC. The games are only worth as much as people will pay for them, and given the choice of two price guides, will most likely only pay the minimum (unless condition or something is considered).

VGPC is based off specific Internet sites, and they tend to update their materials every day. I don't know how often rarityguide.com updates, but I don't think they update as much, though they've had rarer materials.

If you need to pick between the two, use VGPC. Unlike the rarity guide, VGPC tells you exactly what type of methodology they use and that is very important, especially when evaluating the price of something.

However I would use the completed listings from eBay as my primary source b/c that is the only 'real' data out there. I have yet to come across another site that will actually allow you to see the price something sold for (perhaps Game Gavel but I have yet to check). While you may be able to get a good idea of a particular item's value from Amazon or Half, they won't actually tell you if the item sold.

And if you want to get real technical, you can use an eBay crawler that goes by the name of Terapeak. It searches any item that has sold within the past three months and gives you an average price, sell through, number of listings, items sold, etc.
