Ive completed a sega saturn to jamma and the sound connection was a little amp. kit from maplins, but when connected to an mp3 player it is not very good sound.

That's just three wires. Just check some wires. Do remember however that the JAMMA standard is mono. Chances are your jamma setup is also mono. So the jamma connector has a + and a - for sound you can just connect both + signals from your mp3 player to the one + on the jamma connector and do the same with the minus. This way you will have combined stereo sound coming out of both speakers which is mono, but at least you're not missing anything, but stereo seperation. You could however easily mount an mini amplifier in your cab. I did and it rocks I can choose between stereo and mono* and equalize the sound**, boosting the BASS
* and **, depends on the amplifier.
