Buying NTSC Gamecube

I have a PAL gamecube and quite a few NTSC games (most of the cases bought by mistake - mine or the seller's) so I started to wonder how to have some use of them. That's why I have some questions:
1. Do I need all the additional stuff like power supply, Tv cable, pads or just the console to use it in Europe? It's allways cheaper to buy the cube alone.
2. Apart from US ebay are there any other places where you can buy the console cheap and have it sent worlwide?
3. Maybe it is better to buy one of these xeno modchips, and have my Pal cube modded? Will it play all the US (+JAP) titles or just some of them?

the gamecube has it's ac/dc powersupply outside the console. That brick is what accepts the 120 vs 240 volts from the jack. So if you hook up your PAL power supply to your NTSC console, everything fairs fine. So you don't need to get any special down steppers or anything, you can buy a NTSC machine with out the powersupply (as you said, it's cheaper to just get the console itself).


As for TV signal. It depends on the output you use.

The Digital A/V output on the back of the console with be just fine... it isn't straight restricted to the NTSC or PAL standards (though it supports those standards, the point is the TV that takes this input can make logic of it).

As for the analogue output. There are 3 resolutions supported by the gamecube:

480i - NTSC
576i - PAL
480p - hd standard (international)

not all games use all resolutions. Of course all NTSC games do 480i and all PAL games do 576i. Not all games do 480p, but some do (just because an NTSC one does doesn't mean its PAL version will). As long as your TV accepts both 480i and 576i you should fair well. Most modern televisions sold in Europe support at least 480i of the none PAL standards.

Just remember that later GCs don't have the digital out.

Model 001 does, model 101 doesn't. Be sure to ask the model number or if it has both connectors on the back.

I actually have a first model Gamecube, black, NTSC, sitting here in my house. I got it when it first came out (and there was like 3 games, I got Pikmin... weeeee). I really don't have any need for it (have a Wii with BC), actually I dont even know where the cables went so I can barely use it. I know it has the digital out though.

What could I do with the Wiikey SD adapter in my gamecube?
Is it only used as a memory card? Maybe some emulation would work on it?
It seems very cheap, but would I make any use of it?
