Did you turn the SNES on and off with mains power disconnected before touching your SNES board? If you didn't, you could have blown the fuse to add to your issues. LINK

Re: SNES graphical glitching: need help fixing
luckily I was already aware that the snes needed to be discharged before messing about with its innards so thats not a problem. Which cap would be the one that needs replacing? Is there a way to tell that thats the problem before I go through the trouble of replacing it?
Re: SNES graphical glitching: need help fixing
The first thing I would try is to plug an RF unit in and see if they image works via RF. If you use RF, plug in RCA's and try it. The point is, does this happen if you change the output, Could be and encoder problem.
Are you using a first party PSU?
Have you tried using a different cart?

Ive tried all of my snes carts and can confirm they work on other consoles. Unfortunately i havnt got composite cables to try out, only an rf cable.

I don't think its going to be the encoder then as mine was doing the same thing and I was using composite.toredauei wrote:Ive tried all of my snes carts and can confirm they work on other consoles. Unfortunately i havnt got composite cables to try out, only an rf cable.
