Game Boy Micro is great. If you are in U.S, check your local Gamestop, they are only 30 dollars there. It's well worth it.
Especially the Anniversary Edition. It has a nicer body.

Is the Micro the best version to get? I want to get a GBA, but trying to figure out which SP models have backlighting on ebay is a challenge. The Micro would solve my troubles, but I don't know if it's worth it. Thoughts?

The backlit models are all either peal pink, pearl blue or Graphite black (Dark gray, but not black) and have a model number of AGS-101.

Here's some more info:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_Boy_A ... AGS-101.29

EDIT: The Micro is awesome though as it's much smaller screen leads to a much MUCH sharper and colorful display than any other GBA.

Most sellers don't include the model number. If I get a graphite one, will that definitely be backlit? And is that better than the micro?

Just ask the sell if they wouldn't mind looking at the bottom of their GBA in the questions and comments section of the auction page.

As for which one is better, it's all a matter of personal preference so I can't really help you there. Personally, though I find both the SP+ and the Micro to be on equal footing as great systems.

exactly my point. GB library + GBC library + GBA library = amazing, huge library!

Well depending on how late you enter the stage of the GB family; for me, my younger bros started with the GBA, and I actually started with the DS!

So for me, Micro worked ok, since I have only GBA games, no GB nor GBC games.
