God this movie sucks. Jesus.
It just sucks. Wow.
Ok I just finished watching it. Seriously I'm not sure if the director wanted to be john woo, an action movie director, or quentin tarantino. I was expecting something along the lines of the usual suspects or snatch. It's more like an 80s spoof movie made by a guy who wanted to be directing a 100 million dollar action movie. This movie is just all over the place. It reminds me of Hancock, in that it has no idea what it wants to be. It starts off as a typical crime caper, and then the first action scene hits and it's like some sort of pre-matrix matrix wannabe.
Everyone seems to be completely overacting except for marky mark who's some sort of doormat hitman who likes young asian girls.
The movie ends with a fight scene in a video store where marky mark was returning King Kong Lives.
Honestly that last part almost makes it seem like the movie could have been good.

The Big Hit

This is going to make a comeback 20 years from now as a comedy.Jrecee wrote:God this movie sucks. Jesus...

Re: The Big Hit
I would call Tarantino's movies to be crime/comedies. At least pulp fiction. Also, watch the gunfight in the first part of the movie, it's totally john woo inspired.
Anyway, the problem was this wasn't really a straight up comedy. It tried to be a "cool" comedy but the coolness was just really lame, and it wasn't that funny. The videostore nerd was the kind of overacting I'd expect in a disney channel show.
I just got the vibe that there were a lot of people trying to pull this movie in a bunch of different directions, and it ended up a mash of different ideas, none of which really worked well with eachother.
