Need an idea of a good 2 player game for the wife and I

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Need an idea of a good 2 player game for the wife and I

Post by SpaceBooger »

My wife wants to play games with me, but she doesn't like most of the games we have that are two players - Fighting and Beat-Em-Ups.

I preordered New Super Mario Brothers Wii because she likes the Mario games. I guess are there any other good 2 player co-op games we can play on the Dreamcast (that are not the two above mentioned games) until NSMB arrives? She didn't mind dungeon crawlers but thats not her favorite.

Mario Galaxy lets the second person act as a helper by gathering and shooting star bits and holding enemies in place.

My girlfriend really doesnt 'get' gaming. The only things she will touch are on the Wii. I can get here to play a game or 2 of Wii Sport (Which I find utterly boring lol) and Boom Blox is another I would suggest.

Does your wife like Tetris because Tetris Party is great little game as well.

My wife likes playing co-op hack n' slash games with me. I don't know what your wife would like to play, but I can rattle off just about every hack n' slash game over the last two generations if you'd like (she won't play PSX, N64 and earlier generations  ). I'm pretty sure we've played them all...

So does she only want to play co-op titles? I mean, there are lots of puzzle games out there with versus modes, if she's interested in that. Also, what about light gun shooters? Or would she prefer less violence?

the only games my girlfriend likes to play is Halo ODST and guitar hero. sometimes she'll play some marvel vs capcom 2 and just button mash, but i wish she'd play something else.

She is not a fan of the violence...

We have the Wii and DC hooked up to the main tv upstairs. We have done the Mario Galaxy thing, and we have Dr Mario and Puzzle Quest - she likes those solo but doesn't like to compete...
We have Super Mario World and ZAMN in the basement. She likes Mario, but not too fond of ZAMN.

She did seem to enjoy Baulders Gate on the PS2...

How about Toy commander? I get a blast out of the game the more people there are. Another game I'd suggest would be revolt.

Maybe some 2 player stuff on the Taito/Capcom/Whatnot compilations? Bubble Bobble is sorta co-op if you ignore score.
