Disney has nothing to do with the reason I dislike the Kingdom Hearts games.
Are you talking purely PS2 games? You mentioned quite a few PlayStation games, so I'm not really sure what you want suggested to you. For PlayStation there's the first two Seiken Densetsu titles (if you can afford the second) and I might recommend Final Fantasy XIII to you, depending on why you enjoyed Final Fantasy VII. Final Fantasy IX is likely my favorite of the PS1-PS2 Final Fantasy titles, not to mention I think Chrono Trigger greatly exceeds its successor, so it's a little harder for me to recommend anything in that respect.
As for PS2 RPGs specifically, most of what I could recommend would have no correlation to an if/then statement. I'll second the Megami Tensei games if I'm allowed to just recommend RPGs out of the blue. Persona 3 or Nocturne would be a good start, if you're willing to try.
I dislike a lot about Final Fantasy X, but the varying opinions on that particular title are very polarized, so you may want to try it. Final Fantasy XII was never meant for me to enjoy, since it seemed to me to be a watered down hybrid of RPG genres, largely because I played a lot of Final Fantasy XI at the time, which the game borrowed from heavily.
There are titles like Disgaea, but you may not enjoy it if you don't enjoy SRPGs. There are a number of other RPGs for the console, but I wouldn't know enough about them to give you an opinion. Personally, I say try something new with a Megami Tensei title.
