Ive yet to have a job post college where anyone cared about your GPA. Hell my current employer didnt know I went to college until I was here for a year and I am in a position that "requires" a degree.

Don't feel too bad Montel. We all wanna' touch children sometimes, it's only natural.
Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for me.

lol... I graduated from college last December with a pretty good GPA, and I have yet to find ANYONE who will hire me. I guess for someone in the chemistry field, the only real way to be guaranteed a job is to have very highly specialized skills and have a Ph.D. If you don't have both of those, you won't be considered for an interview even if you have perfect grades and a perfect GPA. I guess it's off to grad school for me in another year or less... not sure if I really want to go...

I actually had a potential employer ask me to provide proof of my gpa. As far as I know, 99% of all MBA programs require you to maintain a 3.0 average.

GPA helps but is not necessary. I was hired by Amazon with them knowing I had a 2.5 GPA. I fortunately had the opportunity to do a lot of programming work during the summers of college so I had the real world experience and success that in the end matters more than educational metrics.

This is comforting to know...I'm sitting at like a 2.989 GPA, but I've worked as an intern for two summers for an ISP in the IT department (mainly programming/updating internal tools). I'm hoping if my GPA doesn't help me, experience will.

Experience will be everything to you. I got 4 years full time experience at an ISP (network tech and later network engineer) and it landed me several offers within 3 weeks of graduating, granted your results may vary.

Nothing says hire me more than "I've already done this and didn't get fired"
