Yeah, this is one of the reasons I'm not buying T6 at full price - no co-op in Scenario, either online or off. I'd prefer offline co-op over online, but I'd take anything, honestly.(-_-) wrote:Does anyone know if there is Online or Offline co op in scenario mode? I may not be looking hard enough but I haven't found it. I remember Namco talking about there being online co op and google brings up lots of questions but no real answers. One thread somewhere said that Namco was going to patch a co op mode for scenario.
Anyone playing Tekken 6?

Re: Anyone playing Tekken 6?
ONE TROPHY LEFT! All I have left to do is play the arena with all 40 character... After completing everything in scenario mode and getting some good items, it becomes pretty addicting. It's kind of awful but I am most definitely enjoying it.

Re: Anyone playing Tekken 6?
I like some of the new characters a lot, but overall, the story is pretty bad, and little things like the poor quality of the backgrounds in scenario does leave a lot to be desired. Also, what is with all these new 3D fighters and their overly shiny characters?? Honestly, Tekken 5 looked better on the PS2. It all is kind of analogous to Resident Evil 5. Newer, but NOT better!
P.S. Just got Brutal Legend - NOW THAT IS A FUN NEW GAME!!!!

Re: Anyone playing Tekken 6?
Been playing since friday, gotta say that the scenario mode is somewhat fun, once you get used to it, im using paul
azazel is so fucking hard i havent beat him yet, but then again, i dont know what you get for clearing arcade mode, a cutscene?
online is a major lag-fest, every hit i did with paul was repeated like i had tried it 3 times and 4 seconds later it responds
about the load times on ps3, install it! then go to options and turn on QUICK SELECT, this makes it so the character select screen displays the 2d character art instead of loading the 3d model on the screen, this shaves off some loading time

One good way to beat Azazel is to wait till he goes up in the air and then get behind him when he lands. Is always good for a few good hits and also gives enough time to get off at least one unblockable.
Re: Anyone playing Tekken 6?
I agree about scenario mode although it does get kind of fun the more you play it. I can't agree with it looking better on the ps2 though. Although I think tekken 5 is one of the best looking ps2 games, it is incomparable to tekken 6. The animation is beyond words and it all runs in a very VERY clear 60 fps which is so beautiful it's absurd.artphotodude wrote:I like some of the new characters a lot, but overall, the story is pretty bad, and little things like the poor quality of the backgrounds in scenario does leave a lot to be desired. The problem is that the better some parts of the graphics get, the worse others look. Like the blockiness along the edges of people and the plastic waxiness of skin textures. Also the trees and other plant life in the backgrounds look like crap.(-_-) wrote:I agree about scenario mode although it does get kind of fun the more you play it. I am not saying that the game doesn't look good in some ways, but there is much more that should have been done to 'balance' the graphic quality of the game. The PS2 version was very balanced graphically, with no parts standing out as being bad-looking. Also, it had a much better story, cut scenes and overall gameplay.
Re: Anyone playing Tekken 6?
well PS3 owners can always just downgrade to tekken 5: dr on the ps store it probably has better load times, plus its tekken 5!

Re: Anyone playing Tekken 6?
Very True. Tekken 5 on the PS Network is a hell of a great deal.IcKy99 wrote:well PS3 owners can always just downgrade to tekken 5: dr on the ps store it probably has better load times, plus its tekken 5!
The problem with fighting games is that the gameplay reached it's peak about 7 years ago and now the only thing to really build on is graphics. Companies like Namco, Sega, and Techmo are pretty much just trying to live off of old glories. Soul Caliber 4 was positively aweful compared to 1 and 2, and Virtua Fighter 5, while pretty and such is really not even as much fun as Fighters Megamix on the Saturn. The last really great 3D fighters were Tekken 5, Dead or Alive Ultimate, King of Fighters 2006 and Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution. Everything since then has been either a rehash or an abomination (not counting Street Fighter IV - as it was essentially still a 2D game and also it was pretty good).
The place where they could really make the new systems shine would be in making a really true, quality remake of the original Bushido Blade or something very much like it. Things like its 1st person mode would rock on modern systems and with online play! Also, the damage that the character takes in the PSOne version was pretty cool back then, but imagine what they could do now.

Amen man. Bushido blade needs a comeback like crazy.IcKy99 wrote:The place where they could really make the new systems shine would be in making a really true, quality remake of the original Bushido Blade or something very much like it.
