Kojima.... a Twilight fan?

Post by the7k »

Apparently, Hideo Hojima has quite the soft spot for Twilight. He and another person I admired, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, will be judging a Twilight fan-art contest.

In completely unrelated news, I will be selling all of my Hideo Kojima games and Yoshiyuki Sadamoto artbooks.

Man, I can't wait to see how the MGS haters use this as hate fuel.

This doesn't really phase me any, as IMO the only thing worth a shit Kojima did was Zone of the Enders (glad there's going to be a third one :)).

I don't understand all of the hate for Twilight. Sure, it's cheesy as all get-out, but so is "Escape from New York." Maybe I would feel differently if I spent any amount of time with teenage girls, but I don't.

The condescending attitude I have toward Twilight is more or less a result of cracked.com making fun of the series every chance they get. I've never even read them myself. :?

It's the fanbase. They're convinced this crap is better than Shakespeare, Beowulf, Lord of the Rings, Citizen Kane, and sex combined. And will wish death upon those who think otherwise. Meyers herself has a huge-ass ego, saying Rowling and Shakespeare aren't that good.

Having had the misfortune of reading the first book though, I can assure you it sucks, and sales =/= good writing.

You mean you guys didn't see this coming? You should have read the signs in MGS 2 that Kojima loved gay vampires. Hell, here's a big clue:

Anyway I read the first Twilight book and I hate it, so very very much.

I am just more concered about the fans than annoyed. I mean my youngest cousin told me two years ago that vampires were sexy and went off in some tirad about why the established vampiric lore is incorrect and only the Twligiht one is true. I countered with bits from the White Wolf mythos and she just said it was wrong. I thought about bringing up an exgirlfriend who believes she is a vampire, but that would have been a bad idea with that part of the family.

Haven't seen the movie or read the book(s), but with the following Twilight has, they have to be doing something right. And the spin-offs, man. There seems to be a teenage vampire drama on every other channel.
