the biggest console flop
Re: the biggest console flop
Yes, the Gizmondo is the most entertaining of all console failures. Why does everyone hate on the N-gage? It is a cool little system! What would be really cool, if you had a failed console, and brought in as part of your presentation.

I'd watch Screw Attacks top 10 busts.ParameterBreach wrote:I have to write a paper about something that flopped for my marketing class, and since I'm aprox 75% nerd, I figured I'd make this paper a little interesting on my behalf... So, I am going to write about a video game console that flopped, and I was thinking I would do the Sega DC...I personally like the DC because of it's sweet library, and a lot of future consoles probably used the DC as an example of what to do better, like the internet network for example-great idea, but full of problems. I know the announcement of the PS2 around the same time kind of screwed things up, and the previous failures Sega released prior to the DC like the Sega CD, 32x, and the Saturn probably removed a lot of trust from the company, so that's what I'm going to be writing about. If someone has a better idea though that might be more interesting please let me know.

Thanks for all the tips so far guys, I'm getting really good ideas and points from all of you that I would not have normally thought of...maybe I should do this for every paper I have to write lol. But anyways, due to a really crazy halloween weekend I haven't been able to respond in a timely fashion, but I will be posting my paper up on here when I finish it. It isn't due for a while though, the prof was just putting the idea in our heads, probably so we could write a better paper or something who knows.
Off the subject a little, but I am currently about to start writing a paper about lost technologies from ancient civilizations and I was thinking about doing that egyptian light bulb or that greek "computer" thing with all those intricate gears that was recovered from a sunken ship...still in the research process though, so if anyone has any good ideas, feel free to share and I will let you guys know when I finish the first paper I was talking about...I still haven't decided between the DC and the gizmondo, and I still need to do a little research on the other ones that were mentioned on here.
Anyways, thanks for all the input so far guys, I normally wait a couple years into a relationship to say this, but I love you <3
