yeah, it just begin self destructing on the same area where there was a problem after that two weeks maintenance. the good thing is no one got hurt, but more people are more cautious to use the bay bridge now because of the incident. Right now, there still fixing the damn thing and there is no promises it will open tonight or tomorrow.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote: Not to derail, but what the hell happened?
All I know from what I saw on the news is that the bridge decided to begin self destructing two weeks after it had been given a 100% maintenance inspection.

Also the second I saw the news my head instantly went to that one scene from The Core where the sun starts melting/super corroding the Golden Gate Bridge and the suspension cables start slicing cars and people into pieces.

Re: Has Anyone Been To This Retro Game Shop in SF Bay?
From the reviews they sound more like a comic store then a video game store. I could careless about customer service because every independent video game store I have ever been to has terrible cutomer service. I go in, look around, check prices get what I want then leave. The less I say the better, they make a comment I just shrug my shoulders pay and leave.
One comment I had to deal with recently was when I was looking for Megaman legends or Megaman 64. I asked if they had Megaman legends they said no. So I asked do you have Megaman 64 then. 3 different stores I went to looking for this game replied the same way. Isn't that the same game I already said we didn't have it. Why do I even try I should just always look, and if I don't see it just assume they don't have it even if they have boxes of stuff not put out yet.
From talking to you it seems like a lot of japanese stores have non-exsitent customer service. If you don't know what you want or don't want to look around you will never find it.

oh yeah, if you are visiting SF. The Bay Bridge is out of service until further notice. traveling will not be easy.
I am not visiting, that is my hometown! I lived through the 1989 earthquake, so this bay bridge closure is no big deal. Besides, I never use that bridge. I always use the San Mateo bridge or Dumbarton since most of my friends are in Fremont, Milpitas, and San Jose.

I would also check out 4 Jays in Antioch, CA. They have a decent selection and prices are pretty good for most part some more than others but worth checking out. They have lots of classic games for Genesis, SNES, Saturn, Dreamcast, Jaguar, etc.

I haven't been to this shop in San Jose yet, but it sounds legit. It's a cellphone store that carries Japanese imports. Not a retro shop from what I can tell but it's just nice to know it's around.
They even carry Japanese Xbox 360s ($306 with tax). Dudes at shmups already scoped it out for the Japan only shooters and listed the prices here: http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.ph ... e81d875752
Shop info:
4338 Moorpark Avenue
San Jose, California 95129
Tel: 408-343-1000
Email: [email protected]
Haven't been to 4Jays but I saw they have Commodore monitors listed on their website..... though not at the price I want to buy one for.

There's also a small retro-game store in, of all places, the Oakridge mall in San Jose. I can't think of the name of it off the top of my head, but I remember they had at least some decent games, I remember a handful of boxed items. I got Body Harvest (N64) cart only for 3 or 4 bucks, not too bad of a deal. If I can remember the name of the place, I'll come back and tell you guys, otherwise just head down to Oakridge Mall and look for it, it can't be that hard to find.
