Has Anyone Been To This Retro Game Shop in SF Bay?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Has Anyone Been To This Retro Game Shop in SF Bay?

Post by hashiriya1 »

Well, as most of you who talk to me know, I am returning to San Francisco next month.
I am doing some research to see what retro gaming options there are when I return.

I stumbled upon this on Craigslist, a shop called SpaceCat

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/vgm/1443660435.html

Has anybody been to this shop? It really looks like the kinds of Japanese game shops I go to.
Sorry if this is a repost, I have no idea what is going on back home.

I did some research, they have pretty bad reviews on Yelp. It seemed so promising, too.

I've been to SF several times and I've never even heard of this place.

Try StarGames instead. http://www.stargamessf.com/

I've visited StarGames a few times and they always seem to have good stuff.

EDIT:Wow, that store does have downright dreadful reviews on yelp...ouch.

That sucks, the place looked top be a pretty amazing shop only to screw it up by harassing and being inattentive to the customers.

Sure! It's a pretty small store, but the variety is good. I think I've picked up everything from import PSP games to Dreamcast to original GameBoy titles. They even have Japanese toys and figures if I remember correctly.

Damn, SpaceCat's the name I was looking for! I was in SJ the other day with some time to kill and I couldn't find it when searching on my phone. I'll have to check it out the next time I'm in the area.

I've yet to go into Star Games even though I walked by it twice (both times were with family and they'd have zero interest :( )

Not to derail, but what the hell happened?

All I know from what I saw on the news is that the bridge decided to begin self destructing two weeks after it had been given a 100% maintenance inspection.
