@ Barry: Yeah, I still think JSRF is a great game. It was the first game I got from my Xbox, and I don't regret it at all. I still feel that JSR is superior.

It's not too dissimilar to how I prefer SFA2 over SFA3. I still love SFA3, and I feel it is an essential part of my Dreamcast collection, but SFA2 for the Saturn will always have a higher place in my heart.

@ emwearz: I didn't care too much for MadWorld. I hated how, in order to earn maximum points, you had to grab enemies and carry them over to certain traps constantly. As for The Conduit, the best praise I've heard is that "It's a really good First-Person Shooter for a Wii game", and even then, many people prefer Medal of Honor: Heroes 2. Of course, different strokes for different folks.

When it comes to the Wii, Sega screwed up big time when they decided to go back on their promise of a JSR Wii.

That and screwing the one developer that had already prepared a concept and working code for a Wii JSR along with a fully realized story etc... only to be shot down by Sega.

I remember the first and only time that I had rented a console was when JSRF hit the Xbox. Early March 2002 I rented the console and game for a weekend. As if the Sega gods were smiling on me, I had a 4 day weekend due to freezing rain! I completed that bad boy in 4 days and then bought the bundle that holiday season. Best. Weekend. Ever.

I never tried shinobi on ps2. although I have played a bit of the original genesis games which seem fun but that picky double jump is annoying and never got past the first few levels in the first and third games.

I'm at episode 8 of panzer dragoon orta. Surprisingly I had a much harder time with episodes 1, 2 and 4 while the rest I found relatively easier requiring much fewer attempts. Episode 8 though is really hard and not quite as fun as some of the outdoor episodes.

Was Episode 8 the one where you had to keep rotating around the boss while constantly boosting and braking because that one pissed me the hell off.

yeah I believe so you had to accelerate or decelerate to avoid the laser wall. I hated that part too, for some reason in my later attempts I couldn't do that third acceleration/deceleration, my dragon would just stay in place while the laser wall just sweeped across me which was aggravating. Still managed to beat the boss while taking those hits but it was frustrating as heck.

Now I don't know if I'll be able to pass ep 9. I had a hard time with the dragonmares the first time I dread having to beat them again this time.

I actually found Nightshade (PS2, sequel to Shinobi) to be a much better game than I was expecting. In fact, I'd go as far as to say I like it better than Shinobi - because it seems to me that Nightshade actually manages to capture the feel of the 16-bit Shinobi games, whereas Shinobi didn't.
