V

Post by SpaceBooger »

I normally don't get pumped for "blockbuster" TV shows... especially remakes. But as a child the original V was one of my favorite shows - I loved watching the resistance hunt down the lizard looking, scooby-doo mask wearing, Visitors trying to take over our planet and devour our race.
So with my love for the original, I can honestly say that I am really excited for the series to start again next week!
Anyone else excited?

Not really, as I tend not to watch the remakes. Still, I hope this is another Battlestar Galactica, as opposed to being another Knight Rider.

I thought this thread was going to be about the number "five."

All kidding aside, V is one of those things I never got around to checking out - aren't there old comics, a mini-series, several movies, etc. What is worth seeing? What would you recommend before checking out the new show - which I have passing curiosity in if only because it is a sci-fi show on a major network which is rare.....

I'm not sure how well it aged... I know the lizard looking Visitors looked fake back in the day, but the story/show was fun enough to look past. I would check out the original miniseries.

Well, plus you had Robert England in the original.

Man, now I want to troll ebay and get a shuttlecraft. I always thought they were such a nice clean design.

My wife and I recently watched the whole mini-series and the whole TV series.

The mini-series was great. It's a great sci-fi political thriller. We so loved it that we watched the whole TV series. The TV series, sucks something fierce. It has all the same actors, and we wanted to like it, which is why we watched every episode, but it just gets worse and worse as time goes by. It gets laughably bad, then just bad, then so bad it's funny again, then soooo bad you want those hours of your life back, then somehow it gets even worse. We even noticed several scenes where they repeated fight footage or chase footage from earlier in the season, hoping that you wouldn't notice that they edited in old film to save money.

I would just watch the original mini-series and leave the TV show out. The new TV series might be good though.

Watched the series when first came out. It was excellent until the last episode which sucked balls as I remember, a big let down. I recall they had everyone cheering them to the planet, when they had no idea about anything they did or even they existed. Or whatever.
