Left 4 Dead 2 Demo

Post by Xonticus »

Anyone here playing it on either steam or 360? What do you guys think about it?

I (finally) was able to play it tonight on steam, and I hafta say I love it. The balancing with the new items, special infected and horde director is great.

Ever since the L4D boycott, I've been very leery about getting either L4D1 or L4D2. I'm wanting to see how the community reacts (will everyone move to L4D2 or will it be like CS and CS:S?). I might get it if there's a deal to get both games for a lower price.

I'll play the demo if it becomes available without pre-ordering.

Cs 1.6 to source had more revisions, I still feel like I payed for overpriced dlc. Melee weapons are fun for like the 1st match and everything else is just new weapons and infected.

I bought the 4 pack and I can't download the demo, it doesn't give me a link to do it :(

Is the demo date different for EU? Last I heard it was 28th October worldwide for the demo.

Edit: Nevermind, had to close Steam and open it up again for some reason.

I'm really enjoying it. Left 4 dead was easily my most played game last year, and probably my most played on the xbox.

The charger goes down easy though. i thought there was going to be some strategy with getting behind him to do massive damage or something like that?

The jockey is great. Trying to fight the jockey's influence is fantastic and i can't want to play as him in some versus games.

I never had too much interaction with the spitter. I think she is going to be great to play in a versus game but doesn't really work with computer AI. She would spit, we would retreat and then just open up on her. She would never really find cover quickly enough.

Overall the maps were fantastic, but this is valve and that is what i come to expect from them. They don't disappoint. One thing that i did find pretty striking with this game was the gore. This game is way more bloody than the last game. I've had a couple infected chasing me without arms and missing chunks from their sides. It looks like a lot more time went into the character design this time around. The riot police zombies are a bitch to take down too. They are almost their own special infected.

I can't speak for the steam version, but the 360 version didn't have any incendiary rounds in it, or a grenade launcher. Those were the things i was most looking forward to trying out. Looks like i gotta wait. Still- cool demo. I wanted more and i don't regret the buy.

Since the demo started Valve released a new map for Left4Dead 1 and a bunch of other updates. They also flew the leaders of the L4D2 protest to Valve headquarters and let them play the sequel. This pretty much ended the boycotts as the verdict for the new game was good.

you mean to say that valve made a good game and the internet is full of crybabies and people who jump to conclusions without all the facts? Shocking. This didn't play out at all how I assumed it would.

I don't know why people are boycotting it. Yeah, it should have been a DLC but it's not. So buy it. It's just a bigger, better version of L4D1.

Not quite,

I already knew that the boycott ended. I'm just saying ever since the boycott, I was concerned of how the community would be split up. I know L4D2 is going to take off, I'm just wondering if L4D1 will still have players.
