october means a month of horror games

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Hey guys, I just joined RFGeneration and began setting up my collection and everything(and adding a little additional info to their database), and I noticed an option to blog at their site. I'm thinking about exporting this idea over there once I finish this series, and posting new blogs on horror games every week or two or so for a while.

Because, let's face it, there are lots of horror or horror-themed titles out there that went completely under the radar, and I kinda like writing about all of these, partly because I'm learning about some of these too.

So, if I did that, would any of you guys be interested in reading about horror games over Thanksgiving? Christmas? Valentine's Day? Or possible longer, if I manage to keep it up that long?

Granted I'm not big on the type of gameplay usually in survival horror games, I've always considered Valentines a horrible holiday. I say go for it.

anytime. Yes.

I've been a member of RFG for about 6 months now, and I love it. I've been thinking about blogging there as well. I think about Gameboy ports mainly. Anyway, the RFG database is a great tool. And I just added my first title this past week (Herbie: Fully Loaded for GBA if you were wondering).

Also it should be noted that Crabmaster2000 (yeah, you know him) began the Off The Shelf retro game club at RFG in October. A club similar to TR, although Off The Shelf games are decided upon by participant votes.

Obviously, a little competion is good for websites... at least the racket-forum is far better.

Haha, I actually just sent Crabmaster a PM congratulating him, and I wouldn't say Off the Shelf is competition, as both it and TR have the same goal: getting us to play all those bloody games we should have played years ago.

but to some degree it is competiton... like when we played Galaga, I played that game for the entire 30 months and that made me really into it. But like next month, OTS is doing Sonic and TR is doing 2 games, so that's 3 games in one month. Which means most likely one of those 3 will end up getting most of my attention, or all 3 will get just some of my attention.

In the end, I think that the actual discussion (so the actual participant community) is what will make a game club successful though.

I would definitely read your blog! I look forward to reading new entries in this topic, so a continuation of it would be great.

Well folks, I've gotten the blog set up, and gone ahead and written an introduction post, so we can let the games begin over there! I would expect for the first few days to see some of the material from here get put up over there, though please feel free to discuss them at both.

Here's the URL to my intro post:

Deep down inside you know you love dating-sims, we all do.

As for the adventure games, what's pathetic about those?
