I'm a Yankees fan from having lived in NJ when I was younger but I've been known to root for the Phillies here and there. Too bad that I never really watched too much of the sport (A few games on TV here and there and one trip to old Yankee Stadium in '01 but pretty much nothing more) or any other sport for that matter in my life. I guess it's a result from living with a mother that couldn't care less about her son's want to join a sports team in early grade school, then again that's what made me a gamer.
My Consoles:

I wonder if Joe Girardi is going to be an alien for Halloween. All he needs is green paint.

I'm rooting for the Phillies, simply because the Yankees are the second worst thing in baseball (behind only Scott Boras). If they didn't have an empty checkbook, they wouldn't have even made the playoffs this year.

Regardless, I could care less about watching the games. If anything, I'm pissed because I don't get to watch Fringe for a few weeks due to the playoffs!

yeah gtmtn! GO BOSOX! But seriously - anyone other then the Yankees. I'll watch if they are going to lose. Just to see that sell out traitor J. Deamon cry. Are the Yankees even playing in their new statium yet? Didn't that cost like a Billion dollars? Hopefully they'll lose in the last game at home, and the Phillies get to party in NY!

Should be a really good series. I'm a Nationals fan so I don't really have a horse in the race but I do love to see the Yanks lose cause I grew up an Orioles fan since we didn't have a team in DC. But really I just love baseball and want to see a good series....hope it goes 7!

I agree that this is an exciting series. The losingest team against the winningest. It's the ultimate battle of the underdog. I am a huge Phillies fan and my wife and me are definitely watching tonight. I understand anyone who is sad to have seen Cliff Lee go. He became a hit the moment he put on a Phillies uniform. Go Phillies!

As for the strike. My whole family, even my dad who hates sports, would sit around and watch the Phils play while I was growing up. We went to tons of games too - including Schmidt's last game. After the strike, it took me forever to get back into baseball. Now I am the only one left who really watches in my family, and my passion for baseball will never be as big as my passion for hockey where as they used to be equal. Go Flyers!!!

You don't watch much baseball, do you?

So far, a well played game, defensive wise. I'm thinking around the third game we'll see a lot of scoring. That also depends on how Pedro pitches on the second game, which could be a Yankees blow out.

CC still looks great, and the rain is definitely helping him.
