Need a DS game to last me a 12 hour car ride

Post by RyaNtheSlayA »

Well, just as the title says, I really need one. I have Ninja Gaiden DS and MOON currently, but I'm looking to get a title that will last me a good ammount of time. I'm a big fan of strategy, platformers, arcade, racing, and action games, but I hate most RPG's. I'm trying to stay within a small budget ($20).

So far Trackmania DS ,Sonic Rush, and Metroid Prime Hunters have cought my eye, if Trackmania is anything like the PC version it will be hard to pass up though.

Try Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure, it's an incredible crossover between fine platforming and intense puzzle (think bejeweled) solving. I've played more than 10 hours and still haven't finished it as the difficulty really takes off in the later levels.

Super Mario 64 DS, and I think someone one here was selling a copy for 5 bucks. Maybe it's gone, I'm not sure but I'm pretty sure you can find a copy for less than 20.

Meteos and Mario Kart DS have kept me entertained for days at a time.

I wouldn't recommend play Metroid Prime Hunters for 12 hrs. You hand will have cramps like you wouldn't believe. The Castlevanias are great and you really can't go wrong with any of them. Also, Front Mission is a great strategy game, Kirby Canvas Curse is the reason I bought a DS, and it makes great use of the DS. Trama Center is another great additive game that makes great use of the DS. Sonic Rush is what Sega should be modeling their Sonic games after, its awesome. Its the first Sonic game I wanted to finish to the end in years. I can't remember if it lasted 12 hrs though. All these games should be within your budget.

I've gotta recommend the Castlevanias. Each one lasts roughly 10-12 hours for the first playthrough. I would need to recommend Order of Ecclesia because it is easily the hardest.

I could also recommend Tetris DS. :D

I would recommend Phoenix Wright, or Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, if the reason you don't like RPG's is because they are too hard or complicated.

Portrait of Ruin has captured my attention. Looks awesome.

I actually found Portrait of Ruin the weakest of the DS Castlevanias, but it's still a very solid and fun game. Enjoy :)
