Netflix coming to PS3
I'm excited that Netflix will be available on PS3 soon. I will be able to watch Blu-ray movies and stream movies on same console!! The best part is that there is no additional fees to use streaming besides paying for Netflix.

Re: Netflix coming to PS3
I already have NetFlix and have my PC hooked up to my HDTV to watch movies instantly... is there any difference with the PS3 or is it the same thing?

Re: Netflix coming to PS3
This is great for PS3. Having to load a disc is a bit weird for "streaming" but it's a small price to pay for the selection you get.
I'll stick to using Netflix on the 360 since I am already a Gold subscriber and I don't have to load a disc, but it's great to know it's there if I want to stop paying for Gold in the future as my wife goes back to school and we go down to one income.
I really thought PS3 was going to woo Hulu on board to counter Netflix on 360. I really, really want a device to stream Hulu to my TV. Of course, Hulu is said to begin charging for subscriptions sometime in 2010 so maybe it's a moot point anyway. Maybe MS will throw some money from its Gold pot at Hulu???

It's the same thing. No need for you to move to the PS3.Ziggy587 wrote:I already have NetFlix and have my PC hooked up to my HDTV to watch movies instantly... is there any difference with the PS3 or is it the same thing?

This practically sealed the deal for me getting a PS3 over an Xbox 360.

Re: Netflix coming to PS3
How does HD streaming work on these consoles? Like regular streaming on the internet? If so, I would spend days buffering scenes with my connection (2 mb).
(Obviously this is hypothetical, Netflix is not available in this country.)

Actually, I've read that you'll have to order a special disc that will allow you to access a film's given bonus content. Basically just making available any extras, like subtitles, commentary, or deleted scenes from DVD or BluRay discs, but are apparently unavailable when streaming content.MrPopo wrote:It's the same thing. Yeah the disc allows you to access content that would normally be reserved only as BD-Live features, then again there haven't really been any releases which utilize the BD-Live features and it's starting to become somewhat of a successor to the Angle button on DVD players in that it's a cool but ultimately needless feature.HellHammer wrote:Actually, I've read that you'll have to order a special disc that will allow you to access a film's given bonus content.
