Darn :(

My first web site ever was on Geo Cities. I was using Netscape 3 at the time. I wonder how many pages will survive.
Thanks everyone...

Wow... There are actually quite a few older websites that I would see every now and then that were on Geocities. It was nice to see some of that stuff every once in awhile while searching for random stuff. You would think they would keep it up as a sort of museum.

I'm sad to see it go. Whenever I wanted to express my fandom of something when I was 13, Geocities was the way to do it. Before they take it all down I need to get on there and download some of my old files just to have them again.

I had a badass Dragon Ball Z site way back when. Those were the days.

Yeah, saw that. Good bye Geoshitties! :P

Ok, there were some ok pages on there, but seriously, they were mostly really bad pages full of blinking text and animated GIFs back in the day.

I'm surprised Tripod is still up. I have some old crappy stuff on there myself.

So long internet martyr, you'll be missed but never forgotten by us fans, nerds and kids who can't afford hosting sites.

I think you should be able to pull up the sites on the way back machine.

xkcd has a really great homage to Geocities today.

^And it can't be unseen. Man my eyes have not been in such a pain since 1999 while browsing Pokemon Webpages.

And yes I agree it's awesome but man, it hurts!
