Best TV for Gamnig?

I'm looking to bunew TV and want it specifically ROCK for gaming. Of course I would like for it to be great for everything - but a lot of tvs today looks fantastic but for gaming there is the delay between pressing a button and seeing the character make the movement on screen b/c of the TV's delay in processing the signal from the game console... which is the main issue that I have with my current tv (Samsung), the delay just drives me insane and makes some games unplayable. The Samsung TV has all these great filters that make the image look so much better, but they cause the delay, and when turned off the game just looks like crap and still has noticeable delays sometimes...

So can anyone recommend a TV that is the best for gaming?

Separate Standard and High Definition CRT's for your old and new stuff, it's the only way to really get the best picture out of all of your older consoles.

This is true..

However, I've found myself becoming less picky over the pixelation, and have found old games to do me just fine on a Plasma or LCD, even if its not ideal.

Really, just go for whats convenient for you, if space is an issue and you aren't extremely annoyed by pixelation, go for a flat panel of some sort, if not, go with a CRT.

I couldn't care less about pixelization, what I'm talking about is input and image lag along with the awful blurriness that results from upconversion on an HD set.

If space is an issue consider getting a Slim-Fit SD or HD CRT, these are your standard CRT Tube type TV's, but they feature a much slimmer footprint 16 inches wide for a 30 in. set which allows you to put the TV in a much smaller space than traditional sets. The trade off is that these slim-fit CRT's may need a tune up on their convergence every few years due to their smaller form factor, but that shouldn't be an issue as it's an easy and quick thing to do.

I have a few displays depending on the input:

* 46" Sony Bravia W series LCD (high-def stuff)
* Generic 80cm (31") CRT (older consoles with RF, composite or s-video out)
* 21" CRT with a new arcade chassis attached (only accepts RGB in, usually for hacked consoles or RGB/SCART) - nice square housing makes it easy to sit on it's side for vertical shmups
* 30" Candy Cabinet - RGB only as well, and nice for arcade style games on consoles (has a PS2 living in it at the moment)
* 21" VGA CRT - for the Dreamcast.

Depends on what you like. I like pixels as long as they are sharp and clear. So a good LCD would work. But if you don't like pixels I would get one of the last 32" Sony Trinitron TVs with component input.

If it's a Trinitron or any other decent tube built in the last 7 years then it's going to be a nice sharp image with very clear pixels, especially on any Trinitron set.

Yeah you are right. I don't know how to explain it but some cheaper LCDs or CRT make lines softer and too me that's a bad look. I guess not a Trinitron though, my bad.

Cost is not an issue. Size is not an issue either. I don't mind pixels either.

I just want a good TV that has ZERO lag so that my pressing of buttons on a controller will cause an instant action on screen. Are all new plasma/lcd tvs flawed by having some sort of lag? that just sounds rediculous if there's no 'perfect' gaming tv out there...

I think using a CRT would just be silly.

I don't need the tv to do any crazy filtering or upscaling etc, I just want ZERO lag, I'm not a perfect image quality whore, but no lag, no lag, no lag.

Suggestions?

Uh any TV on the market right now for the most part?

Seriously, people complain and complain about Plasma's and lag etc. I've never noticed it in any flat panel TV i've ever used, even back in 2005.
