Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Welcome to the forum. There are several of us here that tinker and mod, and obviously a lot of importing goes on with many of us so you you'll be set for help on a lot of things.

Don't let the sausage fest scare you off, though being a girl gamer I'm sure you're battle hardened already. :)

I've been lurking here for a few weeks after stumbling upon it, and I must say, this is by far one of the best forums I've come across. The people here are helpful and knowledgeable, with no forum drama from what I can tell. It's made me dig up my old systems and check out Goodwill and eBay for bargain deals. I have NES and 2600 games on the way; without finding this place, I don't think I'd be looking back to these old games.

Fantastic.

Yeah, we're a bad influence that way. Before I joined here I would never have considered buying a Neo Geo. Now I've spent $2500 to get a decent selection of titles for it.

Hi, I've been on this site for at least 6 months and before being on this site, I only had a ps2,gba, and n64. Now I own an original gameboy, gamegear, nes, genesis model 1, genesis model 2, saturn, dreamcast, super nintendo, gameboy pocket, gameboy color, and gameboy sp. Those are not including the n64, ps2, and the gameboy advance I already had. I have about 125 games for all my systems and no repeats. I believe quality is more important than quantity. I also like alt/indie rock, soccer, and hanging out with friends. BTW I'm 15 so my collection is impressive considering I don't work.lol. My favorite game genre is fighting so I'm researching NGPC.

Nice meeting you all.. I didn't realize this post existed or I would of introduced myself a long time ago. Better late than never I guess :)

I will be 32 years old on January 1st. I currently live about an 1 hour outside of Atlanta Ga. Ive been playing games pretty much from the time I was able to grasp an Atari 2600 joystick. I lost interest in console gaming around the time of the PS1.. I just couldn't get into 3d at the time and the controls seemed awkward to me on many of the early PS1 titles. I switched over to Pc gaming for the longest time playing RPGs, Strategy, and MMORPG titles. I got back into console and retro gaming earlier this year after I loaded up some emulators to play Final Fantasy 7 and 9. I have a lot of catching up to do on all the games I missed :)

I decided that I wanted to own the games and play them on real hardware. I had alot of fun collecting and trading them locally and I searched for a way to repair my blinky Nes console and came across this site and through this site I learned that I wasn't the only person into old games and that some of our old favorites had value. Now I've made some friends here and I have been playing mostly console games ever since.

Yes, it's never too late. I never introduce myself either. I just jump in the pool right away and never dried myself. I actually found this website accidentally when I was looking for an SNES game review. I was suck in of how the SNES (and the rest of the console) Hidden Treasures was written at first. From that period on, I was only looking in from outside for a few months and I started to relate to this website even more. I decided that this is the place for me to make home for my retro appetite and I registered. I met new friends, made some trades and I became a very active forum member since then. :D

Didn't know there was a thread for this,

OK, hi everyone,

SkyKnight here from the state of Minnesota; I lived in Taiwan for about six years, played plenty of JP games there. Been a casual gamer for the most of my life, and a fan of JP goods (anime, gunpla, games...).

Look around the site for about a month, gotta say this site is definitely the one to go for retro gaming. Hopefully everyone can work together and expand it.
