Well i was going to buy my girlfriend a copy of one of them doesn't matter which copy, seeing as she loves simulation games and this crappy Farm flash game, its like a tiny version of Harvest Moon she plays all the time.
So figured id get her to play something tasteful instead so recommendations would be helpful, Im thinking "A Wonderful Life" on GCN, id get magical melody but it didn't get an EU release.....
Anywho thanks for the help!

My personal favorite is harvest moon 64. Only problem she might have with that one is that there is no gender option, you have to be a man.

For my girls, that's a deal breaker. One reason why they're not into the Zelda games.toredauei wrote:My personal favorite is harvest moon 64. Only problem she might have with that one is that there is no gender option, you have to be a man.
You would think that it would be trivial to make a gender option available in order to increase potential sales.
Re: Best harvest Moon game in the series
If the gender thing is that important than there is no other choice than "Another Wonderful Life" on GCN though I don't know about it's PAL release...
Re: Best harvest Moon game in the series
I'm sure the later Harvest Moon games were great, but I still enjoy the simplicity of the original. To be fair, though, I just never got into the later games. I'm sure once I better understand their complexities it probably isn't too complicated. The original is also a part of nostalgia, since I first played it about twelve years ago.
If she's not stuck on farming vegetables specifically and you happen to own a Xbox 360, I highly recommend Viva Piñata.

I'm a big fan of those games and I think Harvest Moon 64 is probably the best one out there. I like all of them but that one made and impression. Although the one I played most is Back to Nature. I still have to play the Wii version.
Thanks everyone...

I prefer the 2D ones, the original is my favorite. But I also like the N64 one and the first gamecube one. Although there's another gamecube one where u can choose to be boy or girl. But I heard one of the GBA ones is the highest rated.

My 8 year old daughter loves both the SNES and DS versions.
The gender issue doesn't worry her in the slightest. (Nor does it in any game).

Re: Best harvest Moon game in the series
The Game Cube one is nice but it feels like you have to follow a certain path since the game is divided in parts of your life, the town and surroundings are too small compared to others. Except for the earlier ones but that's understandable.

Re: Best harvest Moon game in the series
let me guess, Farmville? I was in your exact situation, my friend. I went out and bought Magical Melody for GC to ween her off of FarmVille but it ended up with her just watching me play it while she played FarmVille.MaliceValentine wrote:Well i was going to buy my girlfriend a copy of one of them doesn't matter which copy, seeing as she loves simulation games and this crappy Farm flash game, its like a tiny version of Harvest Moon she plays all the time.

I will say that, for a girl, Magical Melody would be more appealing between the two GC games. Her best friend plays the Wii version like its a drug so if you have a Wii, that would be a good choice.
