a made-in-mexico fiesta over a yaris? y'all crazy.

The Yaris seemed to me the best choice for a normal everyday drive to work kind of car. Not sure what the Fiesta is like or how expensive.

I don't get it, I have had 2 fords in my life and they sucked as far as reliability. Always needed work, everything seemed shabby - tires always going flat, engine always acting up, ball joint issues, brake issues. I have also had 2 toyotas in my life. One got to 275,000 miles before breaking down. Barely any issues up until that point. Nothing more than required periodical maintenance. My current Tacoma has had no issues so far, although it only has 5,000 miles on it. Come to think of it, I have also had a Mercury and that had tons of issues too. Tons of flats, electrical problems, and cosmetic damage that seemed to come out of nowhere (like door handles just popping off and needing to be wired back on).

Since I don't have a lot of money to be wasting on that kind of stuff, Toyotas are the ones that urge me to drive them. I also don't think they look that bad. There are classy, sporty, rugged, etc. models for whatever someone is looking for. Still, they hold up, that is the only thing I care about.

Twas a 97 Escort, a 91 Grand Marquis, and a 91 Bronco. The Toyota was an 81 Camry and the new truck is a 2009 Tacoma. I was thinking the Toyota Matrix XRS was a pretty nice looking car, maybe I have the wrong idea of what sporty is

I wouldn't bother trying to defend ford's quality in the 90s. I couldn't even think of any cars of theirs of that era that I'd buy even if the quality was fantastic. Their current lineup is pretty great though.

I think I said earlier that the matrix is the only toyota that I kinda sorta like, although that picture you posted probably has thousands of dollars of aftermarket stuff shoved into and onto it, nothing like that is coming out of toyota from the factory right now. I could probably make a yugo look sporty with enough body work and modifications.

I'm not sure what's going on with that concept but toyota just revealed the lf-a at the tokyo auto show. It doesn't seem there's any toyota version coming though. They're targeting the limited edition supercar crowd with this one ($375,000msrp)

I wouldn't bet on a new supra anytime soon, I think the lexus and the ft86 are it for a while.

I definitely see what you mean about that Matrix probably having tons of stuff added to it. Again, I know nothing about cars and just buy what seems to hold up best. Maybe Ford will prove themselves after they stuff they put out in the 90s. I think that is the reason foreign cars got so popular and it would be good for the domestics to fight back by producing some good products.
