I find myself less and less of a fan of PSP emulations and ports. The small screen means a small resolution, which doesn't translate well to a larger screen. There's also issues with co-op (not that co-op matters a great deal with shooters), not to mention that terrible, terrible d-pad.

You can mod the dpad quite easily. Just cut out a dpad-shaped piece of hard paper (or NES game sleeve), open the PSP up and put it in between the mobo and the dpad.

My modded PSP 1000s dpad is so awesome, it puts everything else to shame. Especially DS's tiny arsed one.

I modded my PSP buttons and d-pad long ago. Still terrible. I think the PlayStation (2, 3, et al) D-Pad is terrible too; it's not specific to the PSP.

I never understood the whole robotic fish concept of Darius games, but I must admit that was a pretty exciting trailer. I think the song made it.

Dammit, every time I think "I don't need a PSP." some kick ass game like this pops up! Here's hoping it'll also be on the PS2.
