Any Old Gaming Magazines To Donate?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Any Old Gaming Magazines To Donate?

Post by racketboy »

I wanted to check to see if anyone had some old gaming magazines to donate (more than 10 years old -- unless it covers a lot of Saturn or Dreamcast stuff) for magazine-to-PDF scanning.

I've kinda given up scanning right now because it takes way to long and too much effort. However, if store sales go well this month, I plan on re-investing some money into purchasing this scanner:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6838115018

This scanner would allow me to feed in pages and have them scanned double-sided at 18 pages a minute in full color all with minimum human supervision. (That's why it costs $400)

The only bad thing is that I will have to separate all the pages of the magazines in order to scan them. But, they way I look at it, it will allow me to increase my scanning tremendously.

I will be starting with some of my own magazines that I have duplicates of (I have a rather large collection) and ones that are a bit ragged (covers fallen off). That way, I won't feel as bad about taking them apart. The ones that I can bear to destroy I will eventually scan manually.

Anyway, if you have some magazines you can live without, please let me know and I will give you a high-resolution version of the PDF that won't be availible to everyone else.

I have a collection of EGM magazines (goes all the way back in 94) I'd be willing to donate my magazines, because I need room in my closet

I also have some Official Playstation Magazines (I was a PS1 fanboy back in the day, Luckily that all changed)

I also have some Gamepro

some of them have pages ripped out, some of them have covers ripped out.

Sounds good!
Even if they have missing pages and covers, I can work with them.
I can at least feed the available pages through the scanner and then manually scan the missing pages via copies I may have already or are able to track down elsewhere.

Once I get the scanner, I'll let you know and we can work out arrangements.

Thanks!

Scans are also welcome as well. 300dpi or better is appreciated, but I'll take whatever I can get :)
Just let me know when you have an issue completed :)

Thanks!
