Hah, indeed. The reason I thought to make this topic was that I was pondering over justifications for CDi and LaserActive and thought to myself, "Are there any?" It became odd that I was desperately seeking out even glimpses of a gem within the library of a system just to justify a purchase that I truly don't need.

Of course, the second motivation for the topic was to see if I could be pointed towards any gems for systems I was unaware of... I could probably justify a few more consoles if I enjoyed fighting games more, but despite owning a plethora of them across Saturn, Dreamcast, and PS2, I just can't get into them. That ousts Neo Geo Pocket. And truthfully older portables have never been my thing. Ly nx is getting a homebrew shooter that might justify it, though, and Judgement Silversword might be the killer app for Wonderswan.

The other glaring omission in my library of consoles and games is pre-'83 consoles. I have a Atari 2600 which is more or less a dedicated Warlords machine, a ColecoVision almost solely dedicated to Slither, and a Vectrex with a multicart and Vectrexians (the only game I have an overlay for, sadly). It's hard to justify something like a C64 or MSX when I haven't even rounded out my 2600 or ColecoVision. As an aside, ColecoVision is getting a homebrew expansion module which will add memory and save capabilities, and with it will come some upgraded MSX ports.

if I ever saw a CDi really really cheap, I'd probably get it just so I could get the 3 Zelda exclusives. I don't know how much I'd play them. But I'd have them.

Do you have a link for that?

Regarding systems with no compelling games, I like them anyway. It's fun to sit down and see just how trashy the games actually are. Kinda like MST3k for video games.

Also, the Ly nx shooter, if anyone was curious:

P.S. Why the hell can't I post "Lynx" (without the quotation marks)?

Lynx
I tried to sneakily edit my last post and you went ahead and posted before I could.

As I was saying, as fun as playing crap is, it's still crap and it's even less fun when I have to store bulky crap just to play the crap. That's way too much crap.

Lynx. Edit, edit, edit... works with a period, just not with spaces on either side. As you can see above, it also works as the first word in the post. And it works as the last word of a paragraph: Lynx

I had the l y n x problem too in a post the other day - wouldn't let me send the post through when i submitted, previewed, etc.

EDIT: Just had the same problem on THIS post before adding the spaces to l y n x

I posted about it the other week and I swear I PM'd a mod. I just PM'd FB a bit ago too if he's going to look into it.

If I post the L word (capialization doesn't matter) with a space after the word, clicking preview or submit gives me a blank page. A friend on another PHPBB board didn't run into the problem, and it appears not everyone here is either. I had assumed it was maybe some setting related to the text only browser of the same name, though I'd been talking about the Atari handheld at the time.
