Re: venting about Gamestop...
Gamestops not a franchise its all corporate owned. Sorry just thought I needed to clear that up one set of rules for all.lordofduct wrote:Mod_Man_Extreme wrote:Trust me I hate gutting games and I hate stickering shit (although we either leave those on the wax paper backing or sticker the outside of the case) but most of the fishy and annoying stuff really is store policy created by a bunch of retarded corporate suits.lordofduct wrote:ok, so mod_man works for GameStop I'm assuming...
and anything that gets really fishy and annoying mod_man throws off as, "sorry, that's store policy".
Doesn't mean store policy is GOOD policy.
Now does our store break policy to keep everyone happy and make sure that it doesn't turn into a pile of shit, yes. The day we start fucking things up like other stores is the day I quit, if someone wants a sealed copy we'll find them one and if all of our copies of some used game are somehow in shitty shape we'll bust our asses to get them a mint one with a case and manual. That's why I haven't just left and given up on the company, I just guess I got lucky somehow but I won't just let my store go downhill if I can help it.
You keep saying this, I know it's store/corporate policy. That's just an excuse of some sort... most customers don't agree with it.
Furthermore, you've said YOUR store doesn't do a lot of these things, and instead does others. Whoopidy doo, you're one store miles upon miles away from me and everyone else here, we don't shop at your store, and just because one store tries to act a little better as a franchise, doesn't mean GameStop is saved. GameStop still has this policy! You keep going, you keep attempting to do the right thing. I'm still going to boycott the shit out of all GameStops, including your own.
I didn't know winn-dixie still exsisted. They all went they way of PigglyWiggly I thought

Even a better reason to continue my boycott. I thought it was actually corporate, but I was just giving it the benefit of the doubt (mostly due to mod_man's consistent "store-policy VS corporate-policy" mumbo).pepharytheworm wrote:Gamestops not a franchise its all corporate owned. Pephary which store did you manage?
Re: venting about Gamestop...
Apparently, the staff at my GameStop is one of the main reasons I go there, plus the convenience factor. They actually called me when they got a copy of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (PS2) and Capcom vs. SNK 2 (PS2). If they don't have an original box for the game, they'll call me when they get one.Mod_Man_Extreme wrote: We will too, with a little more pull on top of that for our regulars.
Ultimately, it seems like the majority of people here don't like GameStop. Someone here pretty much suggested that GameStop is a store for people who don't know anything about games. If your GS doesn't have a knowledgeable staff, that's probably sure. My local GS staff have helped me land some of my favorite retro games.
My advice to all the guys who don't like GS, instead of complaining about it on a forum, write corporate h.q a hand written letter, telling them why you won't shop there. You might end up with a $25 gift card.

PigglyWiggly is still around. And they still sell half of a hog head for $1.39usd per lb.pepharytheworm wrote: I didn't know winn-dixie still exsisted. They all went they way of PigglyWiggly I thought
I thought Winn-Dixie was done too.

You, like myself, just don't think they have great promos.

I worked in the south west Atlanta area, I don't want to say the main store I worked at on here cause like I said earlier in a thread I had a lawsuit with them I will tell you it was in the ghetto. I did work at both Campcreek locations both in the same plaza weirdly enough, but the campcreek EB games is one of the best GSs you will find in the ATL area. They may have a small inventory but some of the best customer service.fastbilly1 wrote:Pephary which store did you manage?
Oh, and I can also verify not all GS have gamecube games. They take them on trade still just send them to certain ATL locations. But every GS I have been to had GBA games they are just sometimes hidden, ask a game advisor.
