My Complaint about the DS(Lite)

Post by Axl »

I don't know if anyone else has this problem. But it seems to me that the buttons(A,B,X,Y) are so small and close together that they really make my thumb/wrist sore. After awhile I can't even play anymore it hurts so bad.

I don't even think it would be so bad if they were spaced farther in from the edges. I can play 360 all day an have no problem, but the DS just kills.

I actually have noticed that my wrist seems to hurt more after playing the DS, but it sounds like it's a different scenario than what you're encountering. My left wrist has problems to begin with because of a bad break and surgery and for whatever reason the DS tends to agitate it more than other handhelds/console controllers. My right wrist never has any problems though, so I can't say that it's the face buttons that are to blame. Perhaps it's something else.

I could see this being a problem if you have big hands. For most people, like me, I've never had a problem with it, but I could see it being a problem for people with larger than average hands/thumbs.

Maybe if you got some kind of grip like this:

Just rest your hands normally when you grip your DS instead of forcing your thumb down on top of it in a death grip.

It's actually the perfect size in my opinion.

I've actually managed to cut the skin where the lower corners of the DS Lite rest on hand. It's quite painful...
