Anybody Have Big Plans for the Summer?

Post by racketboy »

I'm planning on having a big New York City trip with my wife.
Probably the first big trip I've had in a while.

I'm excited, but a bit intimidated at the same time.
I want to make sure I cover all the good stuff without getting worn out.

Arcade auction, try to make it to half of the family vacation, finish at least two of the eleven crazy ideas I am playing with right now - Which is looking to be finish backing up the Saturn collection and make my very large scale 6mm/10mm version of Space Hulk (old boardgame). Lets just say my boardgame room at the next con is going to be crazy.

Going to Connecticut to fix up the farm house, survey out the 2 acres of the family property that I am getting, and a few other odd ball jobs.

I also want to travel out to Washington to go up Mt. Rainier again.

Other then that, balls to the wall work here at the house. Gonna put new windows in the house, new siding, redo both bathrooms, add a room to the garage, and put up a fence. Then all other time is dedicated to coding my videogame.

Going to Japan for a few weeks in June, hoping to find a few used game shops while I'm there :)

That's funny Racketboy; me and the wife and a few friends were going to and maybe still making the trip to New York City. One friend got a new job so it may not happen.

Other option is to go Mexico or some resort that is cheap; wife is a travel agent.

I just got back from a NYC vacation, got to see Conan O'Brien show (big fan) along with all the other stuff which was pretty cool. I still have over a hundred vacation hours for the year, I want to go to DC for a second time or maybe Chicago.

Spending all of August in Japan. Climbing Mt. Fuji and spending a few days in Akiba. I've got a small tour in Japan playing outdoor tekno parties which should be fun. Can't let the music get in the way of Akiba though!

Importboy, have you been before? I can give you detailed tips on which stores to hunt for which types of items. I have collected in Osaka and Tokyo so just let me know. Wandering around Akiba is really the best plan, but a little knoledge can't hurt!

You'll have no problem finding a Neo-Geo CD, the fun part will be finding the best deal and which shop has the best/cheapest games.

We're spending a week at one my employer's condos in Ocean City, MD in June. We always bring my parents and my aunt and uncle. It's great because it's a free vacation for them and they end up feeding us most of the week. I only have to pay taxes for it at the end of the year.

Oh yeah, and we're getting married in September!

This will be my third trip, though this time I won't be in the Tokyo area. Previous two trips I was in the Tokyo area and then down to Kyoto also the last time. Also spent some time further north in Aomori. Akihabara was cool and got some good stuff.

This time I'll be in the Sendai area (first time there) and then up in Aomori prefecture in Misawa. I know there is a kind of generic store in Misawa that sold some older systems/games in a video game section. Was able to pick up a few obscure Dreamcast games there two years ago (hope to eventually rip when I get a BBA). But otherwise, So far I havn't had much luck finding information on stores in either location.

Do you know what the NeoGeo CDs usually go for? Ever seen a PC-FX for sale?
