What was the last movie you've seen?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

The DVDs at the Good Will by me are dirt cheap. Nothing is more than $8. That includes full seasons of recent shows, movies, episodes, and so on.

PS: VHS is the ONLY way to watch movies. Fuck dvd and super fuck blu ray. Laser disc is ok though.

Not all the time, though. Just with old movies. Like, even though I have all four original Batman movies on DVD, I still plan on getting them all on VHS (and then transferring them to DVD).

For me, it's an aesthetic. The look and feel reminds me of a more simpler time. And my local Hotline thrift store charges $2 a tape.

Yeah, but they still get worn out and warped. And sometimes it degrades.

We don't get a lot of DVDs at The Hotline, but they always costs about the same as VHS ($2). I once got the whole Back to the Future trilogy (a Canadian import as it turns out) for only $2. But it's only fullscreen and I prefer widescreen. You can see more (like in Go, where when they're putting the wire on Scott Wolf's character, in the widescreen version you can see his reflection in the mirror, but not in the fullscreen).

I could quote that movie all week.

But I won't.

Maybe.

"Stay Down!"

I love that part because Keno's mouth is closed, but he sure still can yell.

The first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is significantly better, imo. I still enjoy seeing Josh Pais in anything he's in, even though he usually plays a complete tool, just because he played Raphael in my favorite TMNT movie.

Regarding TMNTII: Can anyone tell me what the heck Keno's boss at the pizza parlor tells him as he's leaving to make his delivery? It sounds like "Don't get into any sh_t," but I can't imagine that line would have made it in the movie.

I saw "Traitor" Saturday night. It had one or two major plot holes, but overall I thought it was a really good movie. It's good to see Steve Martin can write a decent drama. After seeing the very, very crappy "Shop Girl," I probably wouldn't have rented this movie knowing he wrote the story.

We started "Observe and Report" last night, but it just wasn't that funny, so we turned it off about twenty-five minutes in. Does it get better?
